Actually, it should be "Man with a gun was no where near trump but his followers are all like REEEEEE"
Ryan Wesley Routh has had his first appearance in federal court. During an eight-minute hearing, prosecutors levied two charges against him: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
He was there to kill Trump and his only charges under the Merrick Garland Justice system are gun charges!
WE have to get Biden/Harris/Walz out of power
hey old man, lying cancun ted cruz is coming for your health care and wants to roll back the retirement age so you work longer. you might want to rethink this one.

Without gun controls laws sponsored by Dems there might not be any charges at all.
Did he fire at Trump? Hard to convict based solely on intent.....
Really.
A guy hiding on the bushes witn an AK 300-400 yards from Trump months after an earlier attempt; a guy who put out a video about supporting the Ukraine War that Trump wants to end shouldn't face attempted murder charges?

Do you live under a rock? It is very common when a likely dangerous suspect it apprehended to charge him with crimes that can immediately be presented to a judge and keep the guy in jail while the investigation continues. As the case develops, more charges will be added. This has nothing to do with Biden, Harris or Garland. It is the way the US system has worked for many decades under Republican and Democratic administrations.

Here’s an idea: why don’t you go 300 yards away from Biden with an ak47 and a scope. Let’s see how much longer you woke morons will be posting
What's with you sickos and constantly fantasizing about assassination attempts? And why does so much of this seem to end up on the Johnson's personal website?
Exactly why you wait until real info comes in. Not shot at. The trump campaign intentionally made it seem so with their press release. "Shots in the vicinity." The first two years after he left the presidency the secret service spent 10 times more on trump than bush because he insists on spending five hours outside on golf courses which can be several square miles. Or at outdoor rallies. The last year that has only gone up.

And Trump has to do a lot of outdoor rallies at weird venues like the one in Butler, PA because his campaign is notorious for stiffing venues where Trump holds rallies such that owners of indoor venues balk at renting to his campaign.

Exactly. Obama had many attempts on his life. Most were charged with weapons charges.
Anyone who would shoot at a political candidate (or ANY person unprovoked) is a wackjob.
Let's look at some additional facts though and then a question:
1) The first dude who shot at Trump was a registered Republican.
2) This second dude voted for Trump in 2016 and apparently wasn't happy with Trump after that.
3) For all the Second Amendment nuts out there, is it easier to make an attempt on Trump's life with a gun or a knife?
Although a registered Republican, he shooter 1 was clearly a democrat. Look at donations and video of his previous conducted that circulates following the shootings.
Similarly, look to shooter 2's 20 donations to Act Blue. I do not see anything credible to support the notion that he voted for Trump (granted, I acknowledge I did not look into this much and concede that he may have).
In any event, do you ever tire of the clear intellectual dishonesty?
You mistake my comments completely as I NEVER engage in intellectual dishonesty. Did BOTH shooters want to unalive Trump? Yes. Would a Trump LOVER want to do such a thing? No. Can a person switch sides politically? Yes. Does it appear shooter No. 2 did that? Yes. Does a shooter and/or a potential shooter of a former President and current candidate for President represent the thoughts and feelings of a PARTY? No.
That said:
1) Shooter No. 1 was a registered Republican but who wasn't outspoken about politics one way or the other. We have no clear-cut answer as to why he shot Trump, and so far the best guess of those doing the investigating is that he was a gun nut who wanted notoriety so he went after the biggest target close to him.
2) The second Trump shooter (or potential shooter as it isn't clear if he shot his gun) is being described as mentally-ill, and he DID vote for Trump in 2016 but then later described Trump as a "buffoon" and a "fool." I will clearly state for the record that just because someone is a buffoon and a fool doesn't mean they need to be murdered.
3) Access to guns is too easy in this country, and the gun culture here is such that a father in Georgia would allow his son (who had been talked to by law enforcement a year prior) easy access to guns in his house. I am not for banning ALL guns (and nothing ridiculous like just muskets), but we need to have reasonable gun laws in this country, and right now we do not have that. Oh the irony if a Republican candidate for President is ever killed with a gun.
Without gun controls laws sponsored by Dems there might not be any charges at all.

I would be for charging this guy with attempted murder. Seems pretty clear the intent there. Just because the Secret Service saw him first and engaged with him doesn't mean the guy wasn't there to try to kill Trump. He should be charged with that and then let his lawyer defend him.
Edward Snowden thinks that there must be some government finger prints on this (or maybe that is what he had to post to make sure he doesn't get invited to a party on an upper floor of a hotel with faulty windows).
I am seeing reports that Routh was spotted at a bar prior to encounter with Secret Service. We got a call and then started playing a game of solitaire. When he got the queen of hearts, he got a vacant look in his eye and left the bar without finishing his drink or the game of solitaire.
I'm not saying this guy was some pro on somebody's payroll, obviously—in my opinion, the guy just looks deranged. But that doesn't mean the government didn't have a hand in encouraging his past militancy, as we once did with Bin Laden. We had a word for it at the CIA: blowback.

I turn 65 in May. Will I make it onto Medicare ? If I do, will I stay on Medicare if the retirement age is raised ?

51 Republicans in the next Senate.
Usually when a program like that is altered those already in it are grandfathered. And that is fair because often people time Medicare eligibility with retirement and an change in the programs would make it impossible to find replacement group coverage. However, Medicare eligibility could be changed without grandfathering current recipients. Since I'm over 70, I am not particularly worried.
