And then three white men took it upon themselves to enact vigilante justice. That’s the literal definition of lynching
This case would actually be a lynching unlike the James Byrd Jr. case if they had just run him down and killed him. They did not.
Aubrey is only dead because he attacked one of the idiots.
I don’t think the three white hicks intended to kill Ahmaud that day, but they showed up with guns to enact some vigilante justice, provoking the situation where they ended up shooting him. It’s a lynching for sure. James Byrd Jr also struggled against the guys who murdered him. I’m sure many did

Yes the "hicks" tried to detain a known criminal until the cops showed up. What scumbags!

It is normal to carry firearms in that part of Georgia. They were not "vigilantes". They were concerned neighbors who wanted to talk to someone trespassing on private property.
It is not lynching just because a black is killed by whites.

They were not just concerned neighbors. They were Punisher wannabes taking it upon themselves to enact justice. Maybe they just wanted to talk, but bringing a gun into that situation immediately escalates it. A concerned neighbor calls the police

So you actually have no idea what happened or what happened in the trial.

If Aubrey wasn't a criminal he'd still be alive.
They were complete morons who needlessly escalated the situation which is why they are in jail

My dad’s white American ancestry goes back 300 years. He graduated from a public school. Then volunteered to join the military and served seven years. He left the military and worked a crappy factory job that started at 10 dollars an hour until retirement. There was always food on the table and he was always a loving father.
I went to public school and then to college. I received not a single cent from my parents towards college. It took 15 years but I payed off my college loans by myself.
I’m as white as they come. What white privilege do I have?
Put it this way. Assume you’re reborn into a middle class family. What race would you want to be born as, and why?
So you actually have no idea what happened or what happened in the trial.
Nice.
Enlighten me
You've made it clear that you form your opinions before you know anything. I'm not going waste my time rehashing the facts presented at the trial so you can just deny them because they don't fit the emotional opinion you started with.
Wikipedia: Vaughan testified that the FBI could not access Gregory McMichael's phone because it was encrypted, but a social media post on Gregory's account four months before the shooting was found stating: "A gun in the hand is worth more than the entire police force on the phone."

The trial was public. Look it up.
I’m just looking for the specific fact I got wrong. That should be easy enough. Like one or two sentences if you can be concise.

not vigilantes tho lol
That quote has nothing to do with being a vigilante. If your life is in danger having the cops on the phone doesn't do you any good. It's a 2nd Amendment quote.

You declared with zero knowledge that they weren't concerned neighbors.
Do you actually think they were just driving all over Georgia looking for a black guy to string up?

I said “they were not JUST concerned neighbors,” meaning their involvement extended far beyond what simply being a concerned neighbor means. I can see why you balked at explaining yourself.
The fact that they tried to track down a guy who they suspected of a crime supports my argument that they were vigilante wannabes, although from reading this Wikipedia article, it seems like they were also extremely racist. Worse than the most racist letsrun poster even.

Don't read what some idiot like 458777 put on Wikipedia read the trial testimony.
