Vin Lananna very angry

Vin hosted A great event today. Haters go home devastated

Joining in the fun: I saw Vin's ego sitting next to Mike's accent on the return shuttle bus. Pre was driving.

Seriously, great venue, great races and smooth organizing. In the Milt v Vin acc battle, Milt's nc team over performed.

But his teams are getting worse. The 90’s were a long time ago.

With the money and control he has at UVA Vin has proved he can’t coach at a high level anymore. The guys barely made it in and the girls also up also.
Remember this is UVA’s home course and they sucked it up

Look at how the program was doing before he got there. Compare that to how they’ve done since his arrival.

I noticed UVA looked really bad at regionals and NCAA’s.
They are definitely getting worse from last year and that’s with more talent and training. Lananna was out of the coaching game for a long time. He should have came to UVA as a Director/ Admin and let someone else coach.

I heard from a friend who heard from a friend who heard it from Rojo who heard it from Vin that Vin can bench press 500 pounds. It must be true. (And Vin said he ran a sub-4:00 marathon. Not a mile, but a marathon. That's 4 minutes, not 4 hours.)

That’s just a money thing. They brought Vin Lananna in to compete in Cross Country and Track. They are continuing to fail at Track and 16th and 22nd is worse then last year and not competitive in Cross Country.

Today was bad. Real bad!

Answer my question: How many other schools had both their men’s team and their women’s team racing today?

How pissed is the AD for giving Vin a contract extension.
Vin needs to give up his coaching duties like at Oregon. The Powell’s get most of Oregons coaching credit. Vin is a politician only.

Oklahoma St, NAU, BYU, Arkansas, Iowa St, Stanford, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Harvard, CBU, NC State, Colorado, Tennessee & Georgetown did this as well. Adding Virginia means that 16 did this. Not that rare.

its not that its not impressive it's just that it's not really what you hire vin lananna for. The men's team was already a consistent qualifying/top 20-ish program when he was hired. They're basically the exact same now? The women have certainly improved a bit and are seen as regular qualifiers but still seem way off the top of the ACC despite him already having recruiting classes go through full careers. You dont hire Vin Lananna to be also rans.

That’s a fair point I can agree with. But the administration is clearly happy with him, as evidenced by his recent contract extension.

He was hired in 9/19. A bit late to hit the class of 20, who formally sign in 11/19. So his first real class was hs class of '21, who are now the UVA juniors.

If safe to say Lananna is underachieving as a coach at UVA.
