Russian doping is more rampant then Kenyan by all official reports, as recent as 2019, despite being banned from competing.
The 2017 WADA report identified many reasons for the 200+ (?) busts in Kenya.
"selection bias" means Kenya is disproportionately targeted, due to higher success and perceived anti-doping issues.
The report you rely on is 3 years old. Russia has been banned in that period while Kenyan doping has continued unabated. Busting top athletes every week is not "perceived" antidoping issues - it is an unarguable reality that their sport has the doping disease. You deserve a medal. 3 years with your head in the sand is quite a feat.

WADA's last ADRV report is from 2019. Do you have more recent data?
How many Kenyan doping busts have there been this year involving long distance runners (the money is in the marathon now after all) globally? How many are Kenyan? How many from the rest of the world? See a pattern, troll?

This is NOT an intelligent post. Please provide some data. What I see is a knee jerk response because you saw references to a few doping busts of runners in Kenya. Do you not grasp that there are likely more elite runners in Iten than in North America?

This is the reason the Brojos should make all doping threads registered users only.
The reason there are so many elite runners in Iten is because they're all doping. If they were tested as rigorously as Western athletes likely 90% of them would be busted. These guys only get tested outside of Kenya twice a year if that. Look at the number of Kenyan athletes at the World Championships and Olympics who have been busted. They don't send bigger teams than the USA, GB etc.

OK but you are registered and you are a problem. How does you registering make you any less of an douchebag?

If you were paying attention, I already pointed to some explanations regarding the number of Kenyan busts. I do see patterns.
The question was whether Russia still has more busts than Kenya, and I haven't seen any recent data yet that permits an intelligent response. And predictably I received only unintelligent responses.
Well surely you admit then that Great Britain and their middle distance dominance from the late 70s to mid 80s was likely due to doping.
They had three dominant runners in a decade. Not a lot for a country of - how many? - 60 million or so? And how many of their runners were popped for doping - as against an elite Kenyan busted every week?
Foster, Moorcroft, Ovett, Coe, Cram, Elliott, Martin, McKean, Hutchings, Steele, Buckner, S. Jones, McLeod - to name a few.
Great Britain by far was the dominant distance running power on the mens side.

Who is busting "top athletes" every week?
No, I didn't think 1996 was 1988. But 2022 is far worse than either. More recent data than 2019 is the continuous stream of Kenyan busts since. I wonder what you think threads like these are about?

Only three were dominant. It isn't surprising they had other good runners. They still do.

These threads are about 100 things to 100 people.
You did try to project a 1988 estimate about Olympic power sports (from a lawyer) onto the 1996 Olympics.
In this instance you are responding to me asking "What about Russia?" to Coevett claiming "Doping is clearly not as rampant elsewhere as it in in East Africa,"
Apparently you are doing this without any Russian data.
For 2022, at the AIU website I can count 11 Kenyans and 11 Russians (excluding the non-doping violation of Whereabouts Failures).
But suppose the increased scrutiny in Kenya has increased Kenyan busts above Russia. The high number of busts are still not enough to compare the relative proportion of nationwide prevalence of doping, as a percentage of the athlete population, to other countries, or to the global average. You need a denominator and a numerator.

So do you think that the British in the 80's had special natural born runner genes if they supposedly dominated like the Kenyans do today?
GB didn't dominate, they had the 3 best middle-distance male runners for a few years, and had competition from the likes of Cruz and Aouita. Britain enjoyed the greatest depth of talent too at that time. This was the result of athletics reaching it's peak popularity in the 70's and early 80's, peak participation levels, before the decline set in due to competition from more professional sports, the demotivating effect of the 'African (doping) invasion', and video games and obesity.
Britain, like other non-African countries, are experiencing a resurgence in talent and performance level, due primarily to the motivating effect of Kenya finally being forced to adopt reasonable anti-doping measures, and other things such as GPS watchs, Strava, the '(West) African invasion of British and European football...
The marathon and road running in general follows behind the track in terms of testing and its effect on Kenyan peformances. It's only relatively recently that the AIU has started to go harder on road racing. Already Kenyan dominance has been diminished (masked by Kipchoge), with most of the best younger marathoners now Ethiopian. It will always be easier for East Africans to dope on the roads given the less frequent racing, but I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 or 20 years time their performances are more on a par with Japan of today.
