Or go to 4:00 to 5:00 where she is all about clean sport and USADA. There is not even a whiff of hinting about sexual assault or SafeSport in this video but mountains of doping allegations but you want to dream up that she was hinting about about AS fingering her??? You might as well guess that he broke into her house and robbed her because there is as much mentioned about that as there is about sexual assault in this video.

I am glad at least some information has come out. But I still am not a big fan of SafeSport.. they have the power to ban someone for sexual misconduct but don't release information. They are essentially protecting the accused from being tried in a court of law and put on a registry. Or maybe Alberto is being tried for that? or I hope so at this point.

Also why can't SafeSport just have banned him in 2019 for life for being a terrible human?

Doesn't that lack of warning fall on safesport for not bringing knowledge of a sexual predator to a court of law? If that was in a public school they would be held accountable for protecting AlSal from being convicted of his crimes

Yep, this is what I was looking for when I asked the question at that time. Not sure why it took so long for the truth to come out and why SafeSport elected to be vague about it.

They didn't elect to be vague about. Apparently there are enough details in the SS report to identify the athlete. It's media organizations that aren't including the details to preserve the anonymity of the victim.

Deny and mock all you want, but you can't get past the fact that MOCs have been falsely imprisoned based on false allegations for decades. Not a week goes by where we don't hear about someone being exonerated after years of incarceration.

This is probably true or at least there is enough evidence to lose a civil and even criminal case. This would explain why Nike, which supported Salazar against the WADA charges, dropped him instantly when they caught wind of the SS charges. Like Penn State and US Gymnastics, they could be liable for their employee's sexual assaults.

Absolutely. It’s like the parents and the school the Crumbley kid went to. The parents knew he was going to shoot up the school, and the school probably did too, but did nothing to prevent further crimes. Safesport is in the same immoral boat as the Crumbleys.

The US Center for SafeSport did not open until March 2017.

It has been mentioned many times on this message board before that the US Center for SafeSport does report allegations of criminal behavior to law enforcement.

The most likely situation here is that the allegations of sexual misconduct against Salazar were not disclosed until way after the statute of limitations had passed for criminal charges to be filed, but since we do not know when or where the abuse happened, no one can say for sure.

But again, SafeSport is in addition to the criminal system, not instead of it.

You are being glib and demonstrating bias to SafeSport. From the time they knew about a criminal act and failed to report it, they put other potential victims at risk. And SafeSport is in no position to make independent and conclusory determinations of whether the statute of limitations or other defenses exist. That is for the legal authorities, not SafeSport, ffs.

There is zero evidence that SafeSport failed to report a crime to authorities. Most sexual assaults are not prosecuted criminally, especially when the victim is an adult.

If you want to be part of the Olympic movement in the United States, you have to play by the rules of USATF/USOPC/SafeSport. They have the ability to kick people out of their club that they deem unsafe to be around athletes, and indeed they are mandated by Congress to do so.

That is what happened here. Salazar is not going to jail and he can still coach, he just cannot coach under the umbrella of the Olympic movement.
