Terrie Reading Yes Dave is training all the time and I do the social media and so on. Dave will be cycling to Bournemouth this August, Lindley he will be traveling through Braintree if you would like to meet up with him. Dave does not use strava.

James Mills It's a shame he doesn't use Strava or something similar. It would be a useful tool to engage all the supporters. I know many London marathon charity runners that keep people up to date with all the hard work they are putting in. It certainly seems to help them raise more money and awareness.

Lindley Chambers If Dave used strava it would as said a good tool to prove that he is training and give credibility to the run. Without this people will naturally be sceptical after the last attempt. Will his cycle be tracked so people can see him?

Terrie Reading Thank you for your comment, the cycle to Bournemouth will not be tracked I'm afraid as it is purely for training and for fun. No sponsors, no RV/support vehicle. So charging power will be an issue, Dave will have his Tom Tom watch and he will try to keep that charged as much as possible. As said you are more than welcome to meet with Dave when he gets that way. We are looking into to using strava if we can keep things charged on route. This is all self funded so we need to keep costs down. Thank you

Lindley Chambers Keeping stuff charged is easy. Buy a charging pack it will recharge the watch loads of times. If there is a car following him use that to charge. Use a solar charger etc etc. There is really no excuse for not using a watch or strava these days if you want to be taken seriously in any way.

Lindley Chambers So where are you posting his Tom Tom data. It can be directly linked to strava or you can provide a link in the group to his Tom Tom account. No real reason for that not happening unless you are not being honest with the training or have stuff to hide.

There was clearly not enough training done last time so if you want people to belive you this time you need to be better at recording and sharing.

So he progressed from a 5:04:14 in 2015 to a 4:19:38 a year later, doesn't seem unreasonable.

Now, what about an explanation for all the lies and half truths that have been raised Terrie?

I need to take a more detailed of Derek's article rather than just skimming it over right now, but I want to point out that Dave Reading does not appear in the 2015 AJ Bell Triathlon results yet he claimed in multiple places to have done that event like in the original LEJOG.co.uk About page. So that is clearly another set of lies/fraud that we haven't discussed before.

I am also shocked about Dave's 4:19 at London Marathon 2016 being legit but it's not unrealistic given we know his real time of 2:09 at the 2015 Norwich Half Marathon. I will need to update my investigation summary. But the fact that Dave Reading didn't even wear his timing chip and repeatedly lied about it malfunctioning leads me to believe that he did try to claim a fake 3:19 time with London Marathon originally since why it doesn't make sense to do that otherwise.

The official results grant DR at finish time of 4.19.38 whereas the TomTom data provided state a finish time of 4.12.46. The official results state it took 2 seconds to cross the start line (likely due to the lack of splits) his watch states he started at 10:02 (2 minutes after the start).

1. Why are the two times different?

2. Is this the data that was presented to London Marathon? If so, where did the 4.19.38 time come from?

The article also highlights many occurrences where Dave makes claims to completing events or finish times that have either no evidence to support the claims or, the results appear to be in doubt (AJ Bell Triathlon, Norwich Half-Marathon, Bournemouth Marathon for example).

2. Why is the Norwich HM time so different to his timestamp on his photo? Where did that time come from?

3. Why was he DQ'd from Bournemouth Marathon?

4. Why did he state he'd ran a 3.12 marathon when he was wearing a TomTom that showed 4.12.46?

OK, I think I've just answered my own question here. I was looking at Active Time whereas London Marathon will of taken the 'Total Time' (4:17:41). I didn't see that until I scrolled the image down. That would count for that so as far as I am concerned there is enough evidence to support the assertion that he ran the 2016 London Marathon in 4.19.

Agree, the whole rationale behind the 2016 run was to claim a sub 3:30 which is why no chip was worn and they thought they could blag and bluff their way in to convincing people he had run 3:12 and the mugs would just take it at face value that he had.

They lied about the 3:12 to various people and he's even on video stating it to Duncan the War Hero when he knew it was a blatant lie, pretty low act, even by his standards.

So we've gone from a malfunctioning chip, to no chip being worn, to the latest which is the chip being worn on the back of the shoe, back of the shoe, are they serious?

And what about all the other lies.

What is strange here is I cannot see any evidence of Dave carrying a mobile phone in any of the publish photos. Given the fact that by the time he ran London Marathon in 2016 he'd already completed London Marathon and the Norwich half-marathon the year before, one would expect him to be familiar with how GPS watches work and would naturally take his result from a GPS sports watch rather than a mobile phone that cannot be seen in the photos.

That is an opinion that is not based on any facts or from any previously published statement from the Reading's.

I'm glad to see the data come out however it would of been so much simpler if they'd of published this TomTom data months ago. This would of put an end to a lot of the speculation surrounding the 2016 London Marathon results.

Not sure this is correct, I thought I read somewhere previous that a marathon time of sun 3.30 would secure a donation of £5,000.

One thing that is clear, when you read through the document it would appear that the Readings misrepresented their achievements at every opportunity. As to why they did this only they can answer.

Who harassed London Marathon? Can you provide evidence of harassment? From what I've seen London Marathon have only been asked to reanalyse the data and publish their findings. To date, as far as I am aware, they have never stated their investigation was over however, subject to the release of the TomTom data I am sure they'll soon conclude their investigation.

It's on the back of 'he's' other shoe.

He's got a cadence of 178 spm in the TomTom data.

That's considered close to optimum for an athlete running long distance at their best. I'm a 3:15 marathon guy and run consistent splits at a similar average cadence. I run 5k around 19 minutes with a cadence of 190 ish. When I run recovery pace (9+/mile) I can log as low as 165 spm.

So, a slower runner who fades significantly after the half way point of a marathon is achieving optimum average cadence over the whole distance. Does that sound right? I really don't know but I certainly wouldn't manage that so would be interested to hear how other non-cheats compare.
