Potentially Suspicious Runner To Run 836 Miles in 9 Days for "Charity"

I have just wrote up this apology for my disrespectful email and Twitter message. I have sent it to the emails of Dave, Terrie, Paul, and other people I have communicated with for the investigation to apologize for my behaviour.

When I wrote those, I did not realize how offensive they could be from a different perspective. In hindsight, I can now see why there was no reason for me to write that email and Twitter message. My intent was to obtain more evidence related to the Dave & Terrie Reading investigation:

I should have pursued my investigation in a more respectful and intelligent manor consistent with what I had already done gathering a large amount of evidence and talking/communicating with various people that upheld their honesty and integrity in light of a difficult situation. Looking back on the past few months of the investigation, I believe I have become too emotionally involved and it has turned into a personal matter instead of merely being someone investigating the matter.

Apologies to everyone that I have disappointed with my behaviour and I will strive to ensure that it does not happen again as I try to wrap up the current investigation.

Well done for offering your apology, many wouldn't. Mucho respect for that.

In investigations such as this it is important that we all remain professional and avoid using emotive language. As frustrating as it all is, it is important that we stick to the facts. Doing anything else just plays into the narrative that Dave and Terrie are victims of keyboard warriors and internet trolls.

* Spurious 3.12 marathon claims to aid in garnering support and sponsorship

* Stated his missing timing mat splits at 2016 VLM were down to a faulty timing chip (photo evidence showed him not wearing a timing chip)

* No GPS data from 2016 VLM available for independent scrutiny (photo evidence showed Dave was wearing a TomTom GPS sports watch)

* Stating DR was going to break the LEJOG WR

* Lack of GPS information on his LEJOG attempt

* Bournemouth Marathon DQ

* Dubious result at City of Norwich Half-Marathon in 2015

* Van drivers statement

Let the facts speak for themselves.

-I am sincere about the apology for being too disrespectful in that email and Twitter message. I don't think people that have given me evidence would have wanted me to act that way either. Looking back at them I can see that I could have tried obtaining evidence without resorting to such crude language and tactics. I think my ability to admit that I am wrong is what separates me from them and I would like to think that I can use logic and details better than being an a-hole from hell.

-I could never have removed this thread even if I wanted to since I have no powers here. And even then, the offer was for valid GPS data of the LM, which I think we all knew they didn't have based on their implausible 3:12 claim and we would have dissected it to pieces if they sent anything. I thought it was pretty obvious in this case that there was no way this thread was going away.

-Yes, I pretended to have given up on the investigation and taken down the investigation summary but the semi-private folder containing more supporting documentation and the investigation summary was still available at all times for people I had given more access to. It wasn't wise of me to have played it this way but it looked very tempting at the time. Looking back, it was the wrong thing to do. And I thought that one of you would have taken over the investigation and continued it.

-I will be updating the investigation summary in the next few days with why I say I got too emotionally involved with the whole investigation as I alluded to in my apology and why I need to end parts of it. Maybe that will provide you with enough evidence of why I'm not playing games here.

Keep pursuing the London Marathon DQ so he can never run that again and call it quits. Leave your Google investigation up and add anything new that comes up after the DQ and let us know about it on this thread.

I'm guessing though once the DQ is given nothing new will come up because Terrie has made it obvious she's not going to give any genuine TomTom data because they don't have any. Also, she's never going to give proof of where the money went, etc. So let them get on with their pathetic JOGLE caper, at least they won't be ripping anyone off, but if they do try there are people here who will alert the potential victims.

The good thing is no one's coming out to defend or support them, not a soul, and if anyone wants to find out any information about these scammers all they have to do is Google his name.

Has there been anymore news / updates on the investigation into his MISSING timing chip from the guys at London Marathon? Surely this must be an open and shut case? Terrie and Dave stated his timing chip was fault when in truth, he wasn't actually wearing one.

Still nothing from London Marathon. I have no idea why Hugh is taking so long and with no transparency. But maybe Derek Murphy has some update? His article from today says he's writing a piece about the LEJOG for next week. I thought he was waiting for London Marathon to give him an answer.

Has Hugh never responded when you pointed out he wore no chip?

As they lied he had a faulty chip and tried to fake the data then that's a DQ anf hopefully a ban.

Had he just not worn the chip and not tried to scam then just a DNF.

The posters over at LetsRun wanted me to forward you one of the full resolution photos of Dave Reading at the London Marathon 2016 that one poster (YorkieCoach) bought. YorkieCoach zoomed in on Dave Reading's shoes and it clearly shows no timing chip on either shoe (see below).

There is a thin blue piece of thread visible on the right shoe by the black laces but it is not definitive what this was from. In any case, Terrie Reading (Dave's wife) and Dave Reading have repeatedly made statements like "Timing chip did not work, had confirmation from London Marathon back in May 2016" which can plainly be seen as a lie because Dave Reading wasn't even wearing his timing chip for the race. See the FaceBook screenshot of Terrie saying that as well as Dave Reading's quote in Tom Bristow's investigative article.

I'm not sure what is taking VLM so long to complete their investigation. To me the answer is simple, DR wasn't wearing a timing chip therefore doesn't get an official time.

Perhaps they're reviewing past 'evidence' sent through to VLM from Dave & Terrie, waiting for responses from Dave & Terrie to the new photographic evidence or, maybe they're just hoping we'll just 'go away' if it takes too long!

Hopefully the marathoninvestigation.com article will shed more light onto the situation.

Whatever happens these two shysters have been outed for what they are, their neighbor's know, the whole of Hockering know, sponsors, other runners, etc, etc, etc. They've had their wings well and truly clipped and are now doubling down with the stupid jogle and train it don't troll it bullshit thing.
