That is one hell of a gap between splits 91 to 122 miles. Darren says he did not stop but there is a huge discrpancy in that split- 9 hours to almost 12 hours. And I notice most of the back of the packers took 10 to 11 hrs as well. So her 9:19 stands out as exceptional amongst the final dozen or so finishers.

Exceptional but not impossible or even completely implausible.

Can someone who knows the Badwater course explain a plausible way she could have cut the course between the 6th time check at mile 91 and the 7th time check at mile 122?

Or for that matter a plausible way she could have passed Fortney and his crew without their noticing it.

So you're saying Darren cheated last year?

Because last year his split for that same stretch was 9:45 while PM's was 10:28.

btw, the guy who finished just behind PM this year ran 8:49 for that stretch. He obviously cheated too.

Was there someone that he surpassed last year that never saw him, as is the main argument against PM currently?

Has anyone actually ever seen this woman physically run before? Every report I have ever heard is that all she does is walk. There is no running. She is a walker. Cheater split times do not mean anything when all you do is walk. Look at the split times for the first half of the race. She was dead last in almost every split time across all 100 runners. This is not a sign of somebody that is suddenly going to light it up in the back half of the race. This is a sign of somebody that is going to DNF because they are not going to finish in 48 hours. You don't suddenly find running legs in the back 45 miles of 135 mile race when you are a walker. This is ridiculous.

All the paces for the back-of-the-packers are walking paces. Her [maybe] suspiciously fast split amounts to 18-19 minutes / mile. [on a downhill section of the course if I have correctly understood what others have posted.]

Might she have cheated? yes, but we're not talking about something equivalent to a 4 hr marathoner suddenly running 30k - 35k in 15 minutes or even 20 minutes.

and Fortney and his crew would have all had to have been asleep for PM and her vehicle to have passed them undetected.

Did the eyewitness guy say that no vehicle at all passed him and his crew or just specifically that no runner passed them? I would guess that a single vehicle passing wouldn't be that memorable, whereas you are not going to forget someone on foot overtaking you at that point in the race.

I would think the most likely way that she cheated at Badwater would just be to get inside her crew's vehicle and sleep while they drove ahead. Sure, they could have driven a short cut I guess, but the simplest answer is usually the correct one.

No, it's not just you - it is getting weird - some recent post is distracting - this was about cheating - not criticizing other for posting - I said before, I lived in this country for long time now, and anyone can have free speech - if someone don't like it, too bad. Anyone can tell what they know - anyone that knows about cheating should tell. And that is what this Darren runner says.

if it is him hes an electrical engineer so perhaps hes been zapped one too many times and its affecting the brain cells
