Considering it was his first ever indoor 600m I'd give him the pass, hard to know tactics for a new race. Plus those speedsters didn't give him much choice!
Hopefully it was also his last. Let's not do these stupid distances.
I still can't believe that multiple people doubted my prediction of 1:14x. This is Cooper, people.
Okay, Fair enough. I never doubted how great the kid was, but I've seen so many people make ridiculous predictions that never come to fruition, and couple that with the fact that 1:15 is crazy fast, it seemed very unlikely. But I am very happy to be proved wrong on this one :-)
I'm wondering if Jakob would have won today's 2 Mile with the training he has had, probably not but an 8:07 with a 56 second close doesn't seem too out there for himself.....
Also, I find it really funny that Mackey though Jakob's mark had a chance of going down today...nope zero chance man. Kerr is not fit and Hocker won with the best race strategy for himself
Super physical race from Duguma, slots in first position through the first 200 to massively slow the race down, but to her credit it clearly worked. Gave Sage Hurta-Klecker a big elbow with 300 to go, and was able to hold of Wiley with 200 to go.
Hey guys! Just got home from my busboy shift at Golden Corral. Is this the right thread to say that Jane Hedengren is DONE? That Diljeet needs to stop aura farming and get her girls running better?
Interesting to see Sahlman in the 800 here. I know he made the 800 final at USAs outdoors, but will he ultimately be a miler or a 5k guy? The only person I can think of that made both the 800m and 5000m us finals (and 1500m, and 10000m) is Lopez Lomong, though I am sure Sahlman will join him soon
Rose picks up where she left off on pace and die duty.
When will she learn?
Where is she training? Man. It’s painful to watch her race sometimes.
As for Willis, I still think it’s a joke she’s not going to World indoors.
She doesn’t have an NCAA outdoors to get ready and USA outdoors as well is optional.
She explained it in her recent interviews. She wants to get into a standard outdoor cycle. She wants to run well in the Diamond League this year. She had a long season that ended only in late September. She has this season to dial-in her first pro cycle, then next year is Worlds followed by the Los Angeles Olympics. What she and her coach decided to do makes sense.
Theyre doing shot put on the center 60m track? Seriously? That can't be good for the track, and watching those 16lb steel balls bouncing around is making me nervous.
Why is one distance less stupid than another? I think it's awesome to see Runners compete in the in between distances- it's great to see a 400 m runner push himself for that extra lap, and neat to see how much flat speed an 800 M runner has.
The distances are all arbitrary anyway... unless you're from a certain Nation who has an obsessive romantic obsession with bizarre distances like 5280 feet...
