ACC Women
The #1 NC State women’s 8-year ACC win streak was snapped last year but they returned to their winning ways today in dominant fashion. In a meet with six ranked teams, they won with just 28 points as #5 Notre Dame (89) was the only other team with less than 100. Individually, NC States’ Grace Hartmann had the lead mid-race but she was tracked down by teammate Angelina Napolean, the US steeplechase world team member, who took the individual title as NC State put five in the top 10 and six in the top 12.Unanked North Carolina was as a surprising 3rd (127). They were getting votes but there were six ranked teams coming in.
(Our earlier post about the ACC meet had an error in it; we have deleted it. This was also accidentally posted in the HEPS XC thread so we have reposted it here.)
somehow Brynn Brown of UNC has now got another season of eligibility despite running full seasons 2021, 2022, 2024, and the ACC Championship (but not Nationals) in 2023
