Beyond beyond the faint possibility of Hedengren time-trialing everyone into oblivion, I'm fascinated by the range of top 5 orderings possible as Kosgei, Napoleon and MBD rev up and ease into the mix.

Colin Sahlman and Hailey Burns get their first conference XC titles as does Cornfield as head coach. Safe to say neither team will contend for a podium at nationals though but top 10 for both is a possibility.

Now that I’m able to watch it, I think that what happened with Hartman is that after having such a massive lead, that when Napoleon (her own teammate) passed her, it just demoralized her, and she gave up.

I don’t put too much into what happened other than that.

Solomon Kipchoge and Evans Kirui lead WSU to a 26 point victory. Kipchoge got destroyed by Samuel earlier this year but I still expect him to place pretty high up at nats. Guy is a machine (and also 28).

Good to see Manny Perez healthy and racing again. 3rd for the true soph. Guy was a huge talent in HS, 4:05/8:40/14:00 while injured his senior year.

Jane has said that she doesn't try to blow people away or gap the field or anything like that. She said she has a specific pace in mind for each race and then she runs that exact pace regardless if anyone stays with her or not.

I really don't think this is it. At race time 19:13, we see her tying up and almost tripping over, so that's clearly a physiological thing.
