Bati looked smooth as ever running conversational pace while Turlington held on for dear life for most of the race. Race got out slow because Oles were running “controlled” whatever that means and La Crosse was doing some sort of pack workout. Chunko told us the course is 80 meters long, so hard to know what to make of times. Course was in decent shape.
Several Oles didn’t finish and their lack of depth showed today. They are likely the top MIAC school, but that margin is thin and they shouldn’t be ranked. The La Crosse B team would have beat the Oles if Chunko would have scored them. I’m not sure that’s legal, but let him claim any victory he can get. And if they are going to host this much they need to find a better timing company. Way too many errors for such an expensive meet and they need a better playlist.
Carleton women looked very strong today. Freshman running with Preisser makes them dangerous. You won’t find two low sticks on many teams like that duo.
If they can tighten the spread from 1:00 and maybe close the gap with some 6-7 runners we may be looking at a top five team.

It was nice of him to pace Turlington, but nobody will touch this man at the end of season. Has any D3 runner ever put in the massive mileage Mo runs?

Well, he kind of tapered into the race… instead of 2 ten milers, he did 20 yesterday morning and took the afternoon off.
Funny checking on Grant, he ran a 4:37 mile before the race then paced his team and Mo makes that seem like a light day.
That just show that just like the rest of us La Crosse has little respect for Chunko and his gamesmanship for inflated rankings. On a countable weekend if they had any concerns, they would have raced. I'm fairly certain Stout tempoed too. At least Chunko didn't try to fight a fan this year. Of course, we all know he is on not-so secret probation from his new boss.
It also seems like he's not maintaining the course well. Past coaches would have laid down gravel on the slick downhills and sloppy turns. We're lucky no one was seriously hurt. It's not like they didn't know the rain was coming.

After this morning’s group run he hit a new PR of 151 miles this week. His consistency is simply incredible. He is a D3 Cam Levins.
