It’s him alright. All the conspiracy theorists are just silly redditors. NYPD and the FBI are very competent and won’t screw up a case like this. They also have a partial fingerprint and some DNA.
He like any amateur criminal just got tired and started making mistakes. He didn’t sign up for an extremely disciplined ascetic life on the run before diving headfirst into the act.
Shooter had to have been a hired assassin/pro or someone with lots of tactical training/experience. He had a silencer. Fired multiple shots from about 20 ft away and did not miss. Came up on Thompson from behind so he had no chance to react. The shooter had an escape plan. Took an e-bike up to Central Park where he could quickly blend in with crowds going for their evening run/walk without being surrounded by cameras. Probably ditched his hoodie and mask and took the subway home.

That story will come out as they investigate. I was skeptical about rage against health insurance being the actual motive as opposed to making it appear like the motive, but with the manifesto found on him and his Goodreads reads and reviews and his chronic back issues and surgery, it seems likely he personally had a frustrating experience with UHC. It’s also the largest health insurer, so he may have gone after them for that reason if his rage was against the industry as a whole as opposed to a specific insurer.
It's bizarre to me that barely anyone knew or really cared about who Brian Thompson was prior to his murder, and now he's the face of corporate greed on reddit.
