Americans - the new slave class anyway (since there will not be any immigrants, illegal or otherwise) with the destruction of unions - will be happy to work for free and be homeless as well ( with decreasing wages but also higher inflation due to tariffs) since fewer will be able to rent apartments let alone buy homes. The military will be used to keep them in line, or just bloat the prison system (which costs the country hugely as America has more people in prison than anywhere else). Just increasing the difference between the haves and have nots. The American educational system (no apprenticeship programs, they come from Europe) graduates more people to be over-educated, poorly educated, and frankly useless for the workforce - which they will now have to pay for again (no student loan forgiveness). Women will be second class citizens again as the misogynists are taking over as their hero (also one) has shown them that it is okay since no repercussions will come of it (the Boys will make sure you get re-elected anyway). I feel sorry for women and the poor in America. But then what can you expect from a country that worships celebrity and money as if it is royalty. Sadly this is also a society that looks down on the British Peerage hierarchy yet its version is no more valuable in terms of morality.
Musk has proven that you can buy your way into power in America (don't even need to be elected) if you kowtow to someone who is for sale (Trump). Not that the Democratic party is any better - they stand for little as the recent election has shown, and putting a woman as head of nothing is no way to get elected. They had an opportunity to get across the message that they had concrete policy to enact, but did a poor job enunciating anything of value - the economy is fine and yet inflation is up everywhere in the world, not just America. We live in a world of Global economies of scale (look at Musk), but some in America think they can shut their doors, be protectionist, and think American business will be better off? That ship has sailed, and it isn't coming back. Just as Reagan failed with supply side economics, so will this too as neither Trump or Musk - now the real leaders of America - understand political economy. Musk wants to become the first Trillionaire, and Trump will take a percentage of that, at the expense of the American people- that so few Americans see that, is a symptom of how poorly educated the average American really is to things that actually matter.
