But it is the same. Doesn't matter whether the leaders are 5 minutes faster than your PR, or 50. If you can't keep the pace, you shouldn't go out with it. You go out at your pace, or maybe one that's a little optimistic, and hope for the best. You don't automatically get to blow your PR out of the water because you had the gumption to go out with the leaders. And don't forget, even being "conservative," I believe the US women were out at PR pace (aside from maybe D'Amato).

It's a race for the bronze at this point. The two leaders are now almost a minute ahead and running well. The chase pack of two is losing some ground to the second chase pack and only has a 15 second lead now.

I think it shows she's still relaxed and under control. I think it's really cool and it must really make the kids' day to see her smile like that.
Gold and silver will be fought between Korir and Gebreslase. I don't see either of them fading badly enough to be caught. Salpeter and Weldu both seem to be going strong, so it is probably hard for Hall to get better than 5th.
