RE: Cheating at Marathons

I ran one of PM's marathons in San Antonio in 2014. It was an out and back four times. I began the race before she started. She never passed me on this course but when I got done, she was there at the finish line waiting for me, wearing a medal. (P.S. Worst marathon ever. Only PM and one other person there for support half-way thru the course. The turn-around was poorly marked and one runner completed almost 10 miles on the first lap before she realized the error. I'll finish my 70th marathon before 70 this year. It is hard to name the best. Easy to name the worst.)

I honestly can't believe she is still organizing these fake marathons. Good for Derek.

Just re-read the whole thread. The worst part about this thread is that Steve guy wanted to slap a defamation suit on the the OP. Turns out he was an integral part of her team including backwater. Did he try to sue him? Because looks like the OP may have been correct in his now deleted post. Thanks Derek for pursuing the truth.

Steve sounds like Larry. Larry's a lawyer and has supposedly threatened/intimidated others who've questioned the validity of his "records."

i wish he'd been there and/or showed up in the results when Derek did his sting. Larry a scumbag who still gets the benefit of the doubt from far too many people. I suspect it's partly because he's got the old grand fatherly look/persona to him that makes people want to cheer and believe in him. Sadly though, he's just a cheat.
