Actually, by getting the locals to roll back the sanctuary provisions, the child rapists they had been releasing in the past will now be taken into custody at the jail or courthouse. This will result in more deportations, as the rate will be closer to 100% versus the much lower percentage when agents are forced to look for them out in the community. This is a huge win for the right and for the safety of the community as a whole. The only loss will be on the deterrence side. Well publicized ICE actions have a chilling effect on border crossings. No sense in wasting money trying to pay the cartels to smuggle you across if you are afraid they will deport you right back, you won’t risk losing money or your life risking the crossing.
