Yes, if Sneakers is the best the other side can throw at us it really says a lot: that I'm a fraud for pointing out 4 years and 14,000kms of low heart rates in these challenges, which are right there before all our eyes. Less than 1% now deny that they're there in plain sight: - the last 70 days of Balenger's Transcon, with the odd exception; the last 12-14 days of Goodge's Jogle, 38/45 of his 48/30 marathons, if we discount Brighton, London and day 1; and now as we know around 45/55 days of his Transcon.
We never get any explanation, or cooperation from WG/RB, it's just "you're all too thick to understand," from their spokesman. How convenient. And they continue to spread the disgusting lie about breaking the British record - they simply don't care - it pleases their sponsors and keeps the money rolling in. Someone has sent me Balenger's 19.8k run yesterday which took him 1:39. The HRs were 135 177 179 169 178 179 179 178 178 176 177 174 175 173 156 155 173 176 175 175.
It's all key data about the quite exceptionally high HRs that RB and WG hit on their runs due to their comparative lack of fitness, ability and background to normal ultra runners. But as RB tells the media, and allows big headlines to state, he beat a Tesla.
But what the community has and will do is stop all this in its tracks. I'd actually be quite surprised if these two work together again, and they know that if they do, they will have the community watching every move. No-one puts it better than one of the all time great Transconners [7th], Marsh Ulrich, who writes in today with these wise words:
"For you and I our greatest fear would be information that would cast doubt upon something we did. For Pete K, Sandy and Frank G, they went to great lengths to make sure there was no doubt about their records.
There will always be controversy surrounding this not well documented Goodge crossing, or as I say an "asterisk" so to speak next to his name. Too bad as he could have done it the right way. The fact that he didn't want to be burdened with a tracker makes his attempt fuzzy and now he will be burdened having to explain himself from now on.
Plus, he will now come to be scrutinized with every thing he does. He is branded and not in a good way."
