Naka gets a small break on the uphill. Osaka running tangent better.

When we posted our preview on twitter. Someone said the race wouldn't be won in under 2:12. Or maybe they said 2:14. If they said 2:12, they were right. I thought it was a pro who said this but now can't find it on twitter.
Anyone know?
Nakamura 12 with a 25 m lead. About 4 seconds. 2 chasing
Nakamura we’ll clear with less than 500m, Osako slips to third!!
Osakas stride is falling aparat, Hattorie is coming back on him. Nakamura looks strong.
Naka is hammering! I think Hattorie pass osaka.
Osako catching up to Nakamura. 1 k to go. Hattori still in the mix
2:11:27 for Nakamura.
Nakamura your winner, Hattori second to punch his ticket to 2020 Tokyo, Osako third.
So shitara has to set a national record to run Tokyo Olympics and osako has to defend his national record.
Top 8 all under 2:13 on a warm and very humid day. Then a big gap to rest of field, no else yet.
Official wining time was 2:11:28, Shogo Nakamura.

Shocked at Osako not making the Olympic team.
Nakamura held off Osako. Osako now under attack from hattori
I can't believe Suguro is theo nly guy with a white singlet. Of course, I can't believe he's wearing black tights either. I'd wear white everything.
What theh hell just happened? Osako was battling for the lead, may have taken it but then ended up third?
Nakamura 2:11:45
Hattori 5 back
Osako another 5 back
Shitara, about 2:16:09, same expression the entire race, should be a good poker player.

He will make the team unless Shitara (or someone else) breaks his Japanese Record (2:05:50) at Fukuoka, Lake Biwa, or Tokyo.

He seemed to struggle on the final hills, which is not an issue in Chicago.
That race lived up to the hype and then some. Incredible race!
Shogo Nakamura is your winner, unofficially 2:11:28.
Yuma Hattori, the Fukuoka Marathon champ, is the runner-up in 2:11:35.
Nike Oregon Project's Suguru Osako is 3rd in 2:11:40. Only way Osako isn't on the team is if someone breaks the national record this winter (2:05:50).
Osako looked to be dealing with a cramp but toughed it out in a fierce battle for second. He caught Nakamura at 41k, but Nakamura answered back with a savage move to pull away for the win.
