Man Kiplimo looks great to me, this 2nd half is going to be nuts. Hopefully they don’t slow down once things get tough, but even if they do and it comes down to a sprint, it should be great either way.
I think the 2nd group could turn into a battle for the final podium spot. If J. Kiplimo and Korir battle for the win, third could still be a possibility for those who started a bit slower. Timothy Kiplagat I think is pretty cooked, P. Kiplimo might have overdone it too. Maybe Kipruto stays in contention but a lot of good guys in that 2nd pack with Mantz, Kamworor, Abdi, etc.

Hope he does well. Just have this feeling he's best suited for 10k-HM. 3rd marathon so maybe it clicks this time
That's correct. He competed for Morocco last year in the Olympics so the soonest he could compete as American is 2027 (though as far as i know he already has the US citizenship)
How is he competing in US champs then?
I think because it's not a selection event for an international team. In Talbi's case he needs to transfer allegiance. It doesnt bar him from competing per say. Since he ran in the Olympics 2024 the soonest he can represent America in an international event is 2027. But maybe Jonathan Gault can confirm my read on this,
I’m extremely confused. Isn’t Talbi an American citizen now and representing USA? He ran USATF champs last month but he’s listed as Moroccan on the live tracker and Ed is ignoring him as an American in his commentary.
Do they just not know or is he running for Morocco? Can JG figure this out?
Announcer just it’s down to a three-woman race. One of them is a dude. The pacer.
They were extremely clear that the first woman they were referring to was Alemu, who had closed back within 5 seconds of the leaders and was clearly visible on screen
