I twisted no words. You need to actually read the report.
The report clearly shows the NCAA handed out tampering violations just for making a call to a pre-existing friend, even though there was no recruiting discussion at all. They claimed no pre-existing relationship is allowed, and didn’t care that SA coming to the school was never even mentioned. This is exactly why the NCAA is a complete joke—anyone can prove these relationships are accepted and pretty much everyone has them. Plus, it’s outright illegal to prohibit this kind of communication.
G’d@m Sean! You are spittin facts! The NCAA may as well fold the tents and close up shop now. They are toast!
These other lawsuits will keep you and your lawyers sharp for the main event. Iron sharpens iron!

Repeating a lie won’t make it true. Change usernames again.
The crazy part is they have no actual evidence of tampering. The NCAA's rule that you can’t be friends with someone if they have a son or daughter at another school you coach for is a bazar joke. This whole case is based on nothing. Everyone admits it was just a friendly conversation and or a serious family health issue. It’s embarrassing for the NCAA to act like this is some big deal. Brosnan will definitely appeal because the NCAA is dead wrong here. Even they admitted:
“Although tampering conduct is relatively straightforward and uncomplicated, this case involved a unique set of facts and circumstances”
And for the NCAA to say.
“Thus, even if Brosnan's communications with the two prospects' fathers did not touch on the possibility of their transfer to UCLA”
During prospect 2’s interview with the enforcement staff, she recalled her father telling her about one of the calls he had with Brosnan in which Brosnan expressed that he would love to have prospect 2 at UCLA. Following her entry in the transfer portal January 2, 2023, prospect 2 enrolled at UCLA and competed for the institution.
Prospect 1 entered the transfer portal on December 12, 2022, and prospect 2 entered on January 2, 2023. Two of Brosnan’s 11 phone calls with prospect 1’s father occurred at 10:25 p.m. and 11:07 p.m. on December 11, 2022, the night before prospect 1 entered the portal. Prospect 1’s father initiated both calls. Brosnan then initiated a phone call to prospect 1’s father the following day. The call concluded 13 minutes before prospect 1 entered the portal. Prospect 1’s father then called Brosnan three minutes after prospect 1 entered the portal.
Imagine reading this and still thinking there is a shred of innocence. You are either Sean or in love with him to pretend he’s innocent at this point.
By Ryan PhillipsIn June 2010, the NCAA hit USCâs football program with the harshest sanctions since SMU received the death penalty in 1985. For years USC fans and administrators have contended that the NCAA was far too hars...
The McNair case mirrors this pattern, with the NCAA jumping to conclusions just like they did with Brosnan, making assumptions about his relationships without solid evidence. This situation definitely won’t end well for the NCAA.

You are saying there was an NCAA conspiracy to penalize Sean Brosnan, a coach with less than 1 year of experience?
Did the NCAA pay the recruits to admit Brosnan recruited them illegally (and they did admit it)? Did the NCAA pay his own lawyer to admit Brosnan had no legit reason to refuse to cooperate with the interview for 4 months?
Sean broke the rules. The rules are you can't talk to athletes before they're on the portal. Period.
What's sad is that Brosnan completely screwed over Barnett and McDonnell. They were going to transfer to UCLA anyway but HIS ACTIONS made them ineligible. They COULDN'T stay at UCLA because they were ineligible from being illegally recruited.
Brosnan is allegedly great friends with their parents but he betrayed that friendship and took advantage of those families and athletes. Makes you think how much he actually cared about them as opposed to just trying to boost his own resume at all costs. THE ATHLETES ARE THE VICTIMS, NOT BROSNAN.

Even if he does win in court, no program will hire him-perceived as toxic, litigious, willing to potentially break rules, and out of coaching for several years and no longer relevant as a result.
He hasn’t posted from Beaverton in a hot minute. With a new CEO and Global VP of Sports Marketing, has Nike rolled up the red carpet? He’s still on social media trying to sell camp spots. They’ve been going fast for over a month now.
Yeah Brosnan totally botched this situation. Just admit it, say it was an honest mistake and take the small slap on the wrist penalty. If he did that, he'd still be at UCLA or coaching elsewhere (possibly somewhere even better).
Instead Brosnan went NUCLEAR and is now radioactive (like a previous poster described). His ego wouldn't let him admit a mistake and now he's pissed off the entire NCAA, the entire California college system, and his lies have made him totally untrustworthy to anyone that might consider being coached by him.
Nobody really cares if he has a small recruiting violation, but his actions following it are totally unprofessional and have tarnished his name.

This was a joke - the NCAA are now Friend Police

This whole mess just keeps getting stranger. UCLA and the NCAA basically cut a deal using this "Negotiated Resolution" or NR so UCLA could bail out without actually defending anyone since Brosnan wasn’t even working there anymore. This new NCAA rule that lets schools handle cases separately from coaches if they’ve left is a complete disaster. UCLA had to admit Brosnan did something before he even got his day in the NCAA hearing. They publically accepted penalties for something that wasn’t even decided yet. UCLA claimed Brosnan was probably educated on the rules in their NR, but now the NCAA’s own report says UCLA failed to educate him on tampering rules and beyond. Which the hell is it? This back-and-forth alone shows how incompetent the entire case is. Not to mention there is no clear tampering and the NCAA nor admits this case is very complicated. I’ve seen tons of cases, but this one is a total head-scratcher and the NCAA is begging for legal trouble with the way they’ve handled it.
