You never have anything constructive to contribute to any discussion here, do you? Your a one trick pony saying over and over again, HE IS DOPED! EVERYBODY IS DOPED! You turn every thread negative with your repetitive doping accusations. I got a surprise fore you. We all know PEDS are an issue in track and field. At least it is not like the old testostorone days. But we DO NOT need to hear the same line every time somebody does something great. Over and over. You are not a creative thinker, are you?
So if you acknowledge doping is an issue in track and field it is highly possible that Ingebrigtsen's record is doped. Of course it is actually more than possible, because it is beyond credibility that a clean athlete could destroy a record set in the EPO era. That you don't want to hear it doesn't change it.
If he was significantly faster than 1:46 he would have competed over the distance. He lacks speed. If he tried to run a faster 800 he still wouldn't beat 1:45. He would need to be able to run 22-high for the 200 - he can't. Low speed with freakish endurance equals the best drugs modern technology can supply.
Yes, ofcourse he would jeapordize his world record attempts by cramming in a 1:44.5 800m into his packed racing schedule, just because. How are you so extremely dense? You are setting world records here.
Enjoying seeing how you obviously cant cope with this. Imagine reacting to a new 3000m record by talking about slow 800m times. Whatever you need to do to comfort yourself I guess. I cant imagine how horrible your life must be as the good option is to torture yourself by following the career of a person you hate to the smallest detail.
If you had a new thought or two, or just some insight into the sport, no, lets not get greedy, just some ability to think logically, then your posts here wouldn't make this forum absolutely miserable. Everyone sees the real you and laughs over your dumb opinions.
He doesn't race the 800 because he couldn't be competitive over the distance. He would not likely improve much on his best. He is one of the slowest top 1500 runners in generations. That he achieves the times he does is testimony to what the sport now enables.
In the 70's Jim Ryun suggested that the most dramatic improvement in middle distances like the mile would require world class 400 speed. He didn't anticipate the effect of doping. We see runners today who are pedestrian over the 400 and 800 excelling over the 1500 and 3k.
A runner who has never beaten 1:46 for the 800 puts two 1500's together at the pace of the great milers of the past, who trained just as hard - 100mpw - and were faster than him over 800. This sport is farcical.
1. When did JI run a 800 meter in good weather last? It's just a clutching at straws argument.
2. Most of the year he runs more than 100mps, more like 115-130.
3. These milers of the past did not measure their lactate X amount of times every day to optimize their training effort.
4. They didn't have super-shoes
5. They didn't have wave length pacing.
6. How many of these former super athletes followed a professional training regime before hey were teenaagers?
By all means, feel free to think he is doped to the gills and argue your case as much as you wish, but let's not pretend JI haven't had a set of advantages in his training regime that pretty much no prior before him has had.
I find it interesting that runners copying his training methods are crushing it and I think by copying his traning methods, a new runner will emerge sooner than most people think to surpass his times.
Maybe Laros?
He has all those advantages you describe and yet he is no faster than a schoolboy over the 800.
Anyone who thinks someone who runs 3:26 for the 1500 and clocked a 1:27.6 last 600 in a 3k can't run faster than 1:46 in the 800 should simply be banned for trolling.
Because he is doped he can run at near his best 800 pace in a longer race. Lagat and El G showed that was possible in Athens. The Paris 1500 showed how Ingebrigtsen lacks speed, with 3 runners faster than him. He wouldn't likely beat 1:45 for the 800.

Wow!!!! How does this dude lose any championship races? My g-d he’s strong. He laid waste to the record and the best runners of the day. 1500 record is going down this year with proper pacing. He is ready.
Funny you say that about laying waste to the best runners of the day: There was a point in the last few laps where Kejelcha and Aregawi were running behind him looking on in disbelief wondering "how is this white dude running away from us? I thought we were the ones with the genetic advantage?".
Just goes to show it can be done no matter where you're from.
Anyone see a full video of the race. NBC cuts out half of it (apparently a 7 and a half minute race is too long for American attention spans, yikes)
Peacock has replay of the full meet, which has the full race. They also have a feature snippet of the race which as you say is a readers digest version
When did he start doping? When he was 12? 15?. He has been best all his life in every aspect. Why would he dope? He is not like a doper who runs slow the whole season before smashing it in the olympic or WC like the other dopers.
Jakob started straining when he learned how to walk. He was destined for this. He is rarely injured and with the tech, shoes, tracks. It can be done ofc. H EL G, the king of EPO, we all know were doping. His ups and down suggested that there was a lot off fishy going on. He had seasons when it did not work for the wholse season and then, on the WC, a week or two later he was suddenly the best by a mile.
It’s weird how people give Jakob so much benefit of doubt.
With most great runners, if they’re too consistent, people say they’re doping. If they’re too inconsistent, people say they’re doping.
How is it that these records were set by dirty athletes, but are getting *crushed* by a clean athlete?
Surely one of these two scenarios is more likely:
- Everyone is/was doping.
- Jakob is proving that it’s possible the older generation was clean too.
He demolishes a record set when EPO use was flagrant and there was no effective test for it. So EPO doesn't work? Or Ingebrigtsen has something even better? We should go with the latter.
7:17 is not bad. If he was teleported back to 1997 he would not be that far behind Daniel Komen. He wouldn't need the wave lights at least. The shoes from back then might be more tricky to run in, but I have no doubt that he could hang with Komen for 5 laps, even without all the carbon fibre springs
You guys are acting like 1996 was the dark ages. You should check out the shoes that Herb Elliot ran 3:35 in. Now those were the dark ages!
They had no motor in the sole? So if it's the shoes it isn't really the runner then, is it? What was Zola Budd thinking!

Daniel Komen is clean from PEDs sir!!!!!!! So is Jakob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats Jakob on his 7:17 WR, that was impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm very generous and effusive with clean athletes who perform well and break WRs, unlike those dirty American Hockerdope and Fisherdope!!!!!!
Look at Fisherdope, the more he runs and participates in races the more I throw up over my blouse at how wildly inconsistent he runs. 7:49??????????????????????????? What the heck is that performance?????????????????
A double Olympic bronze medallist who nearly beat Aregawai (who ran 7:21) in 10k and outkicked 5k near WR holder Gebrhiwet running like a high school kid of 7:49 all of a sudden?????????? Not even a sub 7:30??????? What is this from Fisherdope???????? Last year he ran 7:25 injured and this year what's the excuse for 7:49????? Oh the excuse is last year he use PEDs and this year he got guilty because Khamis the RF King on LRC blasted him publicly and he needed to lay low for a while??????? LOL!!!! Shocking cheater!!!!
If there is a guillotine for fake inconsistent wildly fluctuating PED athletes, Fisherdope is the first one to go underneath it!!!!
That's a ridiculous post. These runners are human. Sometimes it's not their day. Could be fighting a little bug or something. Fisher has actually been quite consistent this year. Remember when you wake up with a headache and call in sick for work!!
If Jakob had to go all out and had a great day In a very competitive 800m no doubt he goes 1:43 high 1:44 low
Well we don’t know that. If he can do that, it seems he is simply not very bright. Because with say, 1:43.9 and 7:17, for you to lose a championship 1500m race, you are either a moron or a choke artist.

Or he is relatively slower than other 1500 runners, as his 800 time suggests. He has run the distance no faster than Elliott did on crap tracks with crap shoes over 65 years ago.
