Difficult? You mean near impossible. Can you imagine a world in which the parents or coaches of a losing athlete demand the genital inspection of the winner? Seems like that would be far worse for the girls than having a trans athlete compete. I think there are states where even the birth certificate can be changed?? Once competition is at a level that T testing is done as part of looking for PEDs, then it would no longer be a problem.
