Some people from New Zealand like to point fingers at other countries to make themselves "feel better". Some of those people are merely hobby joggers, attempting to be in the know but the truth is, they are living in a fairy tale world. This latest news about Zane is one of those fairy tale world moments.

But when their own country takes a blow to the smacker by one of "their" runners getting popped, they go into deflection mode...Look Squirrel!!!!

Robertson's bust will be a disappointment to some in New Zealand - although not to many, as he is little known outside his sport. The sport that matters most to New Zealanders is rugby, where evidence suggests doping is a problem, although no national representative (All Black) has yet been busted.

However Robertson's bust is also simply part of the litany of doping violations that are coming out of Kenya - which New Zealand has no equivalent to. By living, training and doping in Kenya he shows that he is part of their doping problem.

The general level of education in New Zealand may surprise you. It also wouldn't be difficult for a dedicated young runner to find out about what it takes to succeed in the sport in the last decade. Doping has been around a lot longer than that. Few in the sport would be surprised to find out about Kenyan doping simply because of the busts in the last few years.

If Rupp had went across the pond with Mo to train year ago versus Mo coming to the states, and Rupp was 100% caught doping, you wouldn't blame the problem on Great Britain, you'd be ripping Rupp as an American and that Americans are dopers.

As I've said previously, some countries dope more than others. There is no percentage of dopers that will apply uniformly across all. Kenya has shown that.

I thought I would have to be on a political thread to encounter this kind of density but it seems not. I referred to rugby to indicate where New Zealand is believed to have doping issues. Running is not a sport where it is suspected to be prevalent. As I said - only two distance running dopers in the country's sporting history.

Julien Wanders was at his best in 2019, 13:13, 27:17, 59:17 etc ..and then 2020-2023 with very disappointing results. If he were doping unlikely you would see this downward trend over 2.5 years.
