University of Michigan will be good too. They return: Katelynne Hart - 69th at nats Windemuller - 79th at nats Vanderlende - 108th at nats Samantha Tran - 90th at nationals in March 2021. needs a 5th maybe those people who did well at nats in 2018 - like Forsyth or Davre
Michigan remains a mystery to me...Vanderlende 97th today (low 20s at 2019 NCC Championship)

Vanderlende is coming off a significant injury from spring. Several of these same MI women blew up on this course in the covid nationals in March 2021. I agree it’s hard to predict where they will finish this year.
Lance Harter took Sydney Thorvaldson to this course during the cowboy preview race despite not even racing.
Knowlege is power.
Guys you're beyond silly if you think they have to go to Stillwater to understand the course or prepare for it
You realize there is a thing called technology, they can simulate the exact distance and amount of incline on treadmills and there's plenty of good trails with hills locally
And besides like 90% of the runners have already ran the course so who cares
Better not to go and save your energy and just use technology and planning to gear up for the exact course
Unless NC State gets a terrible amount of injuries or illness they will win and win easily... They have five runners who could potentially go top 10
And they have another four or five runners who could potentially go top 40.... It'll be Cakewalk for them
It was very tiring having the Tuohy fans try to discredit Cook's record. She is faster than Tuohy in HS and did it on 1/3 of the miles. No surprise to see that she is the top NCAA runner already.
something to keep an eye on. Hilda Chebet of AL ran right with Bockrath (8th today) and Herman (21st today) of KY last week in a 5K...and she might be AL's 4th runner.

Never a single time have I ever discredited anyone. Don’t rope me into a particular group just because of the name I use. I think Cook’s accomplishments in high school were phenomenal. However, I’m a “Tuohy fan” because of how she completely dominated the sport of track and cross country during HER high school career and believe she’ll be the greatest the NCAA has ever seen and will eventually go pro and do very, very well.
My post today was actually quite complimentary to Cook for her performance today. I think she’s now become one of the favorites to look at for the individual win. She and Roe just became a formidable duo…

This is a ridiculous statement! Cook was not faster than Tuohy or any of the big name stars of the class of 2020 in CC. Times don’t mean anything in CC unless everyone is on the same course!!! If you want to know who was faster in HS just look at the Speed Ratings. Cook was not close to Tuohy or even Starliper who both run for NC State, or Dudek who runs for Stanford. Cooks fastest speed rating was at Running Lane at 165 (easy course). Tuohy’ was over 170 on hard courses several times. Dudek and Starliper were 168 and 169 at Footlocker and were both 30 seconds faster than Cook on that course. Bottom line you can’t even compare Cook to Tuohy in XC. If they raced on the same courses Cook would have gotten smoked time wise. So please stop with that nonsense that Cook was better than Tuohy in XC.
High school is over for both these women and they both are currently thriving in college - who cares about who ran what at FL. I’m sure they’re entirely focused on NCAA. It’s wild that Cook runs so well and doesn’t even run as much as 10k. I know she cross trains like mad, but still. She must be extremely strong mentally; the lack of running mileage would make me freak out and feel unprepared.
Saying all that……Cook did run awesome today and ran a great time on that course this early in the season. No denying it was a great performance and if she stays healthy is a top 10 contender no doubt!
How about the #22 NAU squad? Taking down top 5 Stanford, Colorado and BYU? Frankly I think it’s the shock of the meet. Nobody was expecting this. Is NAU women a threat to podium in November?
I think it’s going to take 19:30 to 19:45 to win it this year, and that’s saying a lot for this course. As long as the course conditions and weather are good come NCAA race day, I think the winner is going to have to be that fast. The women are just that good this year. Look how fast the times that are being run already are and it’s two months away from the championships!
If course conditions and weather are ideal? It’s up for grabs for about 5 to 6 women gut it out to win.

Witn Natalie Cook's age, she should be already a second year runner, she's 19 and Tuohy is 20 and graduating.
