Given the power Salazar had within Nike and little money available in the sport. I think one would be afraid to speak out based on the fact that doing so could be a death sentence for their career.

I think you’re twisting what I am saying. Of course whoever the victim is in this case is in no way responsible for Salazar’s actions. I’d never say something like that.
This is a separate issue. Completely different than the sexual allegations. This is a moral/ethics issue.
You are barking up the wrong tree here. Now you want to morally judge a victim because you think she owes other people something. The victim first has to take care of herself. Once she has done that she can potentially address other issues. You are implying that if the victim knows about a perpetrator that she potentially has moral culpability for his future behavior. This is incorrect.
If we are still assuming it’s Kara, I think it is a fair judgement. Like I said, it’s a separate issue than Al Sal’s allegations.
I don’t believe people should be selfish. I think not telling doesn’t make her morally culpable for Salazar’s actions. Instead she is failing her fellow man/woman. She is failing to protect the sport she has benefited from. She has a moral obligation to give back to the community that helped her.
Once again, completely separate from what Salazar may have done.

Why doesn't this man / boy come forward and make the case?
Because it is shameful.

coachcommentsnicely has twice revealed himself as a fool on this thread.
Anyone saying “I can’t believe it’s Kara because she’d have spoken out about it years ago” is hopelessly simpleminded.
She did tell. The man is banned from coaching. What more do you want?

As they say, timing is everything.

I'm amazed that this victim allowed this to happen more than once. I've always assumed that Nike had more money than God. Why is the coach performing massage on his athletes? It's very poor judgement by Salazar to put himself in a position where he could be accused of such behavior.

If you want answers, watch this interview from about 2:20 to 2:40. It will tell you everything if you are intelligent, and possibly even if you are not.

We put up our article with our thoughts on this
https://www.letsrun.com/news/2022/01/5-thoughts-on-ny-times-report-that-alberto-salazar-was-banned-by-safesport-for-sexual-assault/
You need to revise this article; in particular 5). The leak of the summary is not a violation of federal law under 36 USC § 220541(f)(4)(C). Please read the statute more carefully.
Thank you for your contributions
It's probably Kara given that she said she couldn't talk about the situation on the flight to Daegu due to there being a safe sport investigation, but who it is is besides the point.
the point is that this guy was a horrible slimy monster and was allowed to thrive in track and field for years and years and years with impunity.
He was allowed to "get his claws" as one poster put it into kids. Kids! Galen, Caitlin Chock and Mary Cain. No one batted an eye. They even championed him and treated his boundary issues as a sign of a dedicated coach. It's not cute that Alberto's own children referred to Galen as the "favorite son". Thats weird. If my dad loved another kid my age as much as Alberto purported to love Galen that would be weird. Caitlin and Mary LIVED with the man in his home. Galen got massages with him regularly.
All the while he was messing with prescription drugs, experimenting with them on athletes and his own son. All the while he was sexually abusing an athlete that he may have been attracted to, and making another athlete feel horrible and ostracized because she didn't fit his perfect image. And then he took Mary's teenage self esteem and shattered it to pieces. And yes, he abused Mary. I'm sorry if you think otherwise. He gave her laxatives and birth control she didn't have prescriptions for. That's abuse.
Weirdly, as Shelbo900 mentioned, I feel the worst for Mary in all this. Maybe there wasn't enough info to warn the others, but Mary was fall of 2012...she and her family should have been warned about his abusive behavior. What was most disappointing was seeing athletes saying things like "well I wanted to reach out but..."

So. What did we learn?
Don't glorify things that look fishy and strange. They aren't cutting edge, or a new way of doing things especially when they involve kids. I remember all the press NOP got when it first formed, and people were salivating over the idea of a "great" (Alberto) developing his protege (Rupp). It was weird from the get go. Greatness can be found without abuse.
Listen is someone says something's up or something's weird. You don't have to believe every accusation, but don't dismiss it either. We knew since 2015 Alberto was no good, and most in inner circles knew for a lot longer than that. Keep an open mind. Don't hero worship.
Finally
What an awful (hopefully end) to a long and awful saga in the sport. Alberto Be gone.

My point exactly. Why didn't they speak out?
Fear? So it's okay to allow someone else to get hurt because you're scared?
To protect their careers?
If this is all true, the Gouchers owe Mary Cain an apology.
