Trail marathon distances are often estimated, I've had some come over a mile short. I personally wouldn't count a race where I cut a few miles off as a completed marathon in my profile, but I don't blame him too much for counting it after making the effort to travel etc.
#1. I doubt he's a cheater. Yes he may have ties to PM (who is a cheater), and is clearly friends with Angela (who I don't think is a cheater but don't really care much at this point if she is. She is a serial marathon walker who shouldn't have been awarded the Guinness record before PM took it from her, and she seems jealous of PM).
#2. who the hell really cares if he's a cheater? he makes no claims to any records, qualifying for Boston, age group awards, etc.

PM and Steve were in the same race but her time was 6:33; the other 3 were together at 5:15. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT. Yeah, it's pretty easy to make a wrong turn in some races; especially a long trail race with 51 total participants. IT HAPPENS IN AT LEAST HALF OF ALL THE TRAIL RACES I'VE BEEN PART OF. I don't see a pattern of cheating on Angela and Kevin. But I'm sure your lack of a real life you've got plenty of time to scrutinize their hundreds of marathons and will for sure occasional inconsistencies, missing timing mats, etc. Give me your profile and I bet I can find a few on you too if you race much.

The cheaters nearly always get caught out eventually, as this thread and others have proved.
