I was just browsing through this thread when this caught my eye and I thought I should clarify this statement. "Feeling in mortal danger" is very close to the legal definition of justified use of deadly force. It's just missing the qualifier "imminent" or something similar.
In my state, the law reads as follows, TN Code § 39-17-1322 (A) The person has a reasonable belief that there is an imminent danger of death, serious bodily injury, or grave sexual abuse. Statute, § 39‑11‑612 expands the justified use of deadly force to protect another person if the conditions of the previously cited statute apply to the situation.
