Testoboost is considered a scam product. Why would Salazar has his athletes use something that does work? First l-carnitine didn't work. Now this natural testosterone booster doesn't work. Work to produce what result is Salazar talking about?

Ok, if we have to play the "refuse to answer the question and revert it back" game.

Let me start by saying I am not in any way denying Rupp is dirty. I tried to make it clear that I always believed they were working in the grey area. Perhaps that belief, for some people, should be enough to make me dislike him also. Send me to Ramsay Snow to be flayed, it's not.

However, I like Rupp for the things I mentioned in my previous post. What he represents as a contender in global competition. His Olympic silver medal was an amazing moment in American distance running. I understand that to many people that moment is completely tarnished with these allegations and the likelihood that Salazar has him doing SOMETHING he should not be, but that doesn't negate the fact that American track and field fans should want a runner to accomplish that. SOME runner...ANY runner!

I honestly don't know what to say. The middle portion of the documentary where the guy used EPO and literally "got away with it" should tell us that ANYONE can be doing it. I guess I now default into the pathetic net of an excuse that says "everyone is doing it" because I can't know anything definitive.

If Chris Derrick got busted for EPO tomorrow, I would still be a Chris Derrick fan. If Jenny Simpson got busted for EPO tomorrow, I would still not like her. I have no better answers. My bias will always come out, as will yours.

Past results are meaningless at this point. A past silver medal means nothing.

You can chose to be a fan of people violating the spirit of sport all you like.

I'm sorry, my brain can't reconcile that someone would not be a Jenny Simpson fan. It's incomprehensible.

Centro has the most to lose. He would be better off to keep his mouth shut. Instead he comes off as Mo Farah did is an twitter-fest earlier this year: a hot-head with something to hide.

Is it just me or is it weird that Flotrack has NOTHING on their website about this story?

It is not a matter of popularity, though! It's a matter of integrity. I think, personally, that the sport would be far far ahead of its current pathetic position if it was populated entirely by jerks who were clean. The records and the drugs that make possible the chasing them with such frequency are a huge hinderance to the sport.

My son who's a decent runner just got back from the track having done a sharpening workout including a 100 m in 14.0, which was nearly all out for him. He remarked that that wasn't the pace of the WR for the mile. How could anyone do that?!?! he asked. We looked at each other and said, together, 'drugs'.

We live in an era in which the only way to realistically dream of being a WR holder, or, even world class, probably, is to contemplate cheating in ways that may be dangerous to long term health. It's disgusting that sport, which thrives on the dreams of the young and memories of the old, has come to this - to dream is to contemplate having to sell your soul.

Until it's cleaned up - which probably means booting Nike out of it (and other shoe companies, too...) - professional T&F deserves to die.

I don't know if that is sarcasm, but I absolutely 100% agree with you. And I have apologized for it a million times on this board. I know I sound like a retard with no clue, but I can't help it. Go back to that "Elite athletes you dislike for no reason" thread from a few months ago. I try so hard to love her, but I cannot.

Look at the 2nd video down, which describes "a runner" coached by Salazar. If you watch the video, it's almost entirely obvious that it's Cam Levins (if you've ever watched an interview of Levins talking, you can tell that it's him by the way he speaks) with maybe something that altered the audio of his voice a bit so people wouldn't know it was him.

Good on him though; I'm glad he's speaking out about this and even though he requested to remain anonymous, it's good to know that he's a good guy and actually questioned drug use. I think he should speak out about this un-anonymously because I'm like 90% sure it's Levins in the interview.

Think NOP is dirty but Got to agree that the documentary did not really provide any evidence sufficient to get get anyone banned. All the key people interviewed had already spoken to the anti doping authorities a while ago and they have done nothing so you have to conclude their evidence was insufficient to take any action. All the stories were not much use.

The only thing Goucher said of any use was that Al Sal told her to take thyroid meds which the program made clear is not banned.

The only new info the program included was about testosterone and Rupp taking it since he was in high school. They only evidence of that was a photo from 13 years ago which said he was taking testosterone medication and something else which Is in asthma medication which he had a TUE for apparently. Salazar said they recorded Testoboost, a legal supplement, as Testosterone medication. It will be almost impossible to prove that is not the case.

Unless an athlete comes forward and says Salazar gave them something which was banned or they get access to Rupp or other athletes medical records I can't see anything coming of this.

They will continue to get away with it.

Face it, if you want to be a fan of a world class athlete, you're going to be a fan of someone who is either doping, or is bending the rules to a fault.

And just for the record, I've always been a really big fan of Rupp. Somehow, I thought, that he was just this talented kid (13:37 in hs!! - afterall Salazar would never endager the health of a minor, even Salazar!) who, probably was doing some shady things, but no more than the Africans and who was inspiring kids to some of the best hs performances ever in this country.

I'm about as cynical as they come, but even I am shocked by the allegations here. I don't know why I am... maybe I'm just experiencing flashbacks from my time in Eugene. I was sooo disappointed then when I learned what was going on, how these guys were beating me so easily (or, at least one of the reasons they were...). It's like Breaking Away:

"Just a year-and-a-half later, though, Magness left, thoroughly disillusioned with a program that pushed into the gray area of medicating athletes to gain an advantage, and one he came to believe had crossed the line into outright doping.

In February 2011, barely a month into his tenure at the Oregon Project, Magness had his first run-in with a medical practice that bothered him. Rupp was headed to Dusseldorf to run an indoor 5K. But before he left, Salazar wanted him to take prednisone, a corticosteroid often used for asthma, Magness says. Because corticosteroids can block pain and potentially enhance oxygen consumption, and because overuse can suppress one's immune system, the medication required an official therapeutic use exemption in order to be used in competition. An athlete with such an exemption has been granted use of an otherwise restricted drug or treatment for medical purposes.

International anti-doping rules allow for expedited (and even retroactive) exemptions when acute medical problems need treatment, but Salazar and Rupp were unable to procure an exemption, Magness says. Rupp took the medication anyway, and while he flew ahead to Germany, Magness was directed by Salazar to fly to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to have a bottle of Rupp's urine tested. "They did that to see if it tested positive," Magness says. "I hand-carried Galen's urine through the airport, onto the plane, and into my rental car and drove to this clinic and dropped it off, and that was it." He never learned the result of the test.

Magness then flew to Dusseldorf to meet Rupp prior to the race. Soon after he arrived, Rupp told him he wasn't feeling well. Magness called Salazar, who he says told him to expect a package. Two days later, a box arrived at his hotel room. Inside it he found a paperback thriller. Confused, he flipped it open. A section of the pages had been hollowed out to form a compartment into which two pills were taped. "At that point," Magness says, "my mind was like, this is stuff you see in movies, this is extremely strange." He handed the pills to Rupp, who he says promptly swallowed them and laughed off the clandestine packaging as typical Salazar antics. Magness, who had been on the job less than two months, says he never asked what the pills were. At the end of the week, Rupp placed fourth in the 5K in Germany. Neither Salazar nor Rupp responded to questions about the hollowed-out book containing pills. "

I appreciate the sleuthing, but it says at the bottom of the video that it's an actors voice.
