Darren - Did you share this with the race director?
I asked PM directly how she finished in front of me when she never passed me. She had no response or explanation. When asked where and when she passed me between miles 91-122 (she somehow got to lone pine in front of me), once again no explanation. I can tell you each and every runner who was in front and behind me (+- 10 each way)when and where I passed them or when they passed me. At Badwater you know. It's a flat road in the desert. The back end of the race is deserted. When we see teams and runners, we interact. Runners bond at the passing points. We encourage and support each other. We ask if they need help. Badwater us a bonding event. We are not competing against each other.... But against ourselves and the conditions. Our teams interact with each other. Obviously this was void with PM and her team because they did NIT pass us. It's not just me. My entire crew was there too. We would have seen her and her team on the race course. Nobody slips by you.
Yes, the race director Chris Kostman is aware of this information. I will respectfully leave it in hands what to do with it. I have zero stake in this game. I am just a guy who likes to run.....and run honestly. I didn't even know who this woman was until a few weeks ago.
Her facebook page is now covered with photos of her finishing Badwater
Re PM and her ilk, these people are unbelievable, literally unbelievable.
I call BS. How did she get in front of you (as you claim), if no cars passed you (allegedly with her in one). Did she take a plane.
I think you are mistaken.
Did he say no cars passed him?
She did not physically pass me at any time during the race. Period. No need to keep coming up with theories. The Dolomite Loop is the craziest bunch if crap i have heard....right up there with bouncing off the moon. I have run this race 4x. She has run it twice. There is no confusion here. You literally have to turn off the course onto a separate road on the loop. Not one runner gets this mixed up. And she is going to make up 2 hours and 12 min in a couple mile loop?!? It sucks when our heros in life lie and cheat. We make up excuse after excuse. Theory after theory. Look at all the folks Lance lashed out at while being accused. Nobody wants to believe in such behavior. But I am not responsible for her actions. She is. This has to stop. Word is now out.
I am officially out if this conversation. I have shared what happened. It is fact I not getting dragged into this drama any further. I have my own life and this crazy world has no part in it.
Thank you for participating.
Comparing her to Lance Armstrong. She hasn't lashed out at anyone. Race results show that she beat you at Badwater two years in a row and now you imply that it was because she was blood doping. You're not making sense dude. Come in out of the sun.
Questions getting too hot for you?

You are seriously confused. He's implying she cut the course. The comparison to Armstrong stops at performing well and lying about it.
Dude. You were the last to finish.

You asked someone to explain to you why you didn't see them pass you.

As opposed to the other years where you were 4th to last and 6th to last.

This is a good example of why everyone posts anonymously here.

Darren didn't do too badly in 2009 where he finished in 36:28, and just nine places back of Dean Karnazes.
http://www.badwater.com/results/And from what I can see he never DNF'd, but most importantly he doesn't seem to have lied about his races.

First PM was behind me approximately 2 hour and 12 min hours at the turnaround at Darwin (91 mile mark). At this point, I was 1 hour ahead of PM based on my later starting time and 1:12 physically in front of her. Again, 2 hours and 12 min ahead of her (2:12). I finished the race from 91 to 135 without napping, sleeping, or other off course breaks.
Did she cheat last year too?
Results show she did 18 minutes per mile on this downhill stretch where she "passed" you, while you did 22 minutes per mile.
Last year she had very similar splits and did 19 minutes per mile on that stretch. You did 18 mpm on that stretch last year, btw.
I might question why someone would do Badwater, but I'm not going to taunt them for being at the back. If you finished, you're hardcore.MarathonMind wrote:

Agreed. I'm always amazed at how people can't look objectively at the facts presented and then come to a reasonable conclusion based on a preponderance of the evidence. I'd have to say that at this point, with two eye witness statements, other supporting statements, multiple occurrences, and some actual documentation (as in posted race results), I'm leaning towards believing that the credibility of this RD might be in question. One compelling fact is that it's highly unlikely for someone to run two marathons in two different states at the same time. Because a "chip" time exists and was posted for the two individuals that are almost an exact match, someone had to physically enter those times. If so, at who's request and why? So, at the very least, some questionable activities and decisions are being made by RM (in both her role as a Race Director and race participant). #18 clearly has no horse in this race from what I can see. He's already stated he's not a pro or sponsored athlete. What would he have to gain from raising his concern other than protect the integrity of the race results and the sport he loves? He was only responding to some questions he had after completing Badwater. Clearly, he had some concerns about possible cheating at the time he finished the race. So much so, he had the guts to ask PM directly and he wasn't satisfied with her response (or lack of response). The RD for Badwater will clearly have to address the matter and in the end, based on a preponderance of the evidence he gathers, a decision will be made. You can bet it's not going to be decided based on the contents of this thread. It will be based on eyewitness accounts, abnormalities in reported times and testimony from what appear to be at least 4-5 eyewitness accounts. RM and her support team will have every opportunity to respond to the questions raised as well.
