RunnerSpace should've produced that meet instead of B1G Ten Network. Their analyst (Sara Kroll) called one of Oregon's Kenyans Canadian, and Anika Thompson "Anika Sisson".
I'll take Paul Swangard and Kara Goucher on RunnerSpace every time over what Big Ten Network put out today.
sounds like the acc productions where you have to list to the geriatric norm ogilvie with his longwinded questions that never get to the point and mispronouncing or misnaming 80% of the athletes
You're kidding-- they really don't do the back hills and cemetery Hill at Van Cortland any longer? I always wished I could have run that in college because I was better suited for a tough course like that. Instead, my one year of college cross country was spent running on Notre Dame's flat as a pancake golf- course course.
Yeah, 8km =4.97 mi . So what’s the old (and new) course records.
They don’t run the back hills and cemetery hill anymore? That’s sad. The back hills are VCP.
They did the traditional course with back hills and cemetery. Myles broke the record on the legit course. True, Charlie Bevier ran 23:49 for 5 miles but 23:26 is a superior time.
By the way, very impressed by Sadie, who was very much NOT known for her XC exploits in HS. She was the best at a state level but it never translated up. Bodes very very well for her on the track.
As I am always trying to tell this board, Sadie was very well known in high school for xc.
- ranked #2 in the class of '25 for xc
- holds the Woodward Park XC course record in CA (ahead of Baxter, Lane, Hasay, Trotter etc and yes, this is the famous German Fernandez course)
- 4 time CA State xc champ
- 3 time CA Gatorade xc award winner
- 4 time NXN individual qualifier
- 2 time Foot Locker West winner
Ignoring track, Sadie Engelhardt was an exceptional hs xc runner. Her recent ncaa performance is not a surprise.
Including Jane's 45 second destruction of the field in a spread and claiming it is bad for the team is nuts.
Oh, is it? Possibly my mistake. Haha…
Meanwhile, top-5 is top-5, and if there is a 1 minute + spread to your #5 runner, chances are you’re going to lose.
You cannot seriously think spread is a meaningful metric when the team’s #1 runner is annihilating everybody else in the field by unheard of margins. Normal rules obviously don’t apply here, and I struggle to believe that anybody is seriously unable to grasp this concept.

this is the correct take. The team gap is irrelevant when you have Hedengren. The only gap they need to be concerned with is the 30+ second gap between #2 and #3 that has existed the last two meets. If you think Chamberlain is likely to finish someone around 15th to 20th, 30+ seconds back would put the rest of the top 5 well outside the top 40. I'm not sure they beat NC State or Oregon if they only have 2 all-americans.
