Today Kristoffer has been testifying. He found an old car contract from 2006 which he’s using as evidence to support Gjert’s extreme need for control.

«Kristoffer Ingebrigtsen said in court that he felt that Gjert bought a car for him so he could control him» (rough translation of an extract from VG today)…. My thoughts… well it’s pretty simple, do you want a free Audi A4 or do you want your freedom? Gjert is simply giving you an opportunity to reflect on your personal values and choices. Stop whining and buy your own car if you don’t like it….

He was asked if he signed the contract and he said yes I wanted the car.

So… this evidence can be used different ways… in some ways it supports aspects of Gjert’s narrative .. that he set consequences, that these kids are all super materialistic ungrateful spoilt brats… (not his exact words).. and also the idea that they are now simply sick of Gjert having the last word on everything. Kristoffer says that’s basically why we are in court. There is also plenty of evidence that they all milked Gjert for as long as they needed him.

If he was really as violent and frightening as they’re now painting him, there are a lot of things that don’t quite make sense to me. Still suspicious there is some revisionist history & exaggeration going on in this case.

As for the stuff about the Bislett guy offering Narve money to run the 5000m, the denial is just comical because the guy has denied it while at the same time admitting it’s true. Make it make sense. Respect to Narve here because he didn’t choose the free car option, seems like he chose to run the 1500m for no payment, rather than taking the money and doing the 5000m. But I guess we will hear Narve’s version soon.

So why are you singling out Jakob here? 4 of his siblings give the same narrative about physical and psychological abuse -the oldest brother (Kristoffer) for instance, has told in an interview that he is so marked by the abuse that he probably should be medicated…

And the only brother (Martin)who think the abuse claims are exaggerated wouldn’t visit his near living parents for months after the incident with his sister, and even participated in a collective warning to the child service authorities (although regretting this as the conflict arose)…

I like Jakob. He is easily the person I root for the most in track and field, as well as feeling his losses the hardest.

But I think like many ultra successful people, he may have a sociopathic ability to see things, do things, and believe things that will ultimately be most beneficial for him.

I'm not saying he's definitely wrong or lying or anything else. I just can't take it all at face value.

Jakob has also penned a column that was published today. He says he doesn't want to tlak about the case moving forward and asks the press to not forget the less famous victims of domestic abuse. Both in the column and in court I believe, he said he's sad as he didn't get the "recognition" that he wanted.

Any Norwegians, on here, what did he mean by that? It seems like something is beign lost in translation - would reaction be better?:
