And most importantly, a person's race times have nothing to do with the validity of their opinions.
I agree.
I never once suggested that his performances have any bearing on the validity of his opinions.
I simply responded to people who want to act like he has earned relevance through his performances.
No one is acting like he's earned relevance through his performances. He HAS earned relevance through his performances and we all should stop humoring as dense as you.

+1
As a side note: whenever someone feels the need to praise their logic, IQ or honesty, they are far far below average.

"Performances have no bearing on relevance as a commentator!" - Amby apologists
"Performances have a major bearing on relevance as a commentator!" - also Amby apologists

That's what I said when that weird "Ooops" guy (obviously a guy) posted about how smart he thinks he is.
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
And both of you are imbeciles. I suppose Ali, who boasted about his boxing prowess, was below average as a boxer. It stuns me how stupid some of you are.

You are really struggling here.
Pay close attention:
Most boxers who say they are the greatest are certainly not the greatest.
That doesn't mean that the actual greatest is not accurate when he says so.
Likewise, an actually extremely intelligent person would be correct to note their intelligence.
But most people who feel compelled to make such statements, like most braggart boxers, and like you, are mediocrities.

How stupid are you? It would be accurate to say that most people are not highly intelligent, whether they boast or not, but a small minority of us are, whether we boast or not, so the boasting is rendered irrelevant in the assessment, but some of us can back our boasting up, while you cannot, as you have been eviscerated continually and exposed as a buffoon throughout this thread.

I'll continue to say that people who boast of their intelligence are rarely extremely intelligent.
You'll continue to prove the point as my case study. Thanks for that.😘
The "I'm very smart, you know" types may be "above average," as you seem to think you are (and may well be).
But these braggarts are seldom extraordinary. The same dim understanding of intelligence that leads them to make such banal statements reflects, ironically, their intellectual poverty.
The fact that you think a single sentence you've typed here 'backs up your boasting' reflects my point. It's depressing, frankly.

Oh, and by the way, thank you for completely and predictably giving me the responses I anticipated, facilitating my goal of making this thread totally uninteresting to anyone dropping in (and you truly are uninteresting), rather than an ongoing nexus for defamatory statements against Chepngetich.
You see, the other fun thing about people who think they're very bright (but aren't) is how easy it is to for a smarter person to manipulate you to do my bidding. Very much like playing a musical instrument, really. (Nothing complex; one of the more elementary ones. Perhaps a recorder.😅)

Frankly I didn’t mean to transform this thread into a pissing match. But here is the deal: Amby Burfoot offered his opinion about whether the 2:09 female marathoner Ruth C is doping. You then attacked his opinion by accusing him of being desperate for relevance, which is fine except it is meaningless, because even IF that was the impetus for the article, it is immaterial in assessing the worthiness of the opinion, much as my boasting of my intelligence, while perhaps unbecoming and symptomatic of an inflated ego, has no bearing on the quality of my arguments, which have rendered your assertions impotent.

It's been fun!✌
Nobody is doing your bidding. Everyone is shocked at how stupid you are. You have manipulated nobody, but your self aggrandizement is symptomatic of mental illness.

Please, keep going!
Preferably with terribly-formed semi-literate sentences and long posts, so that it fills more pages.

“Everyone”? 😆 (Talk about self-aggrandizement.)
How many upvotes do you see below your posts?
There is nobody here. You made sure of that.
Thanks!😉 A classic “who?” post, multiplied by someone like you, is a perfect set up.
(Keep going if you like. It nicely fuels my belief that I found a dupe when you first replied.)
If you think "we don't have a clue" you haven't been following what has been happening in the sport for decades.
Did you miss that it was the 78-year old voice of experience, former Boston Champ, and long time writer for Runners World, and author of several running books, with all his "understanding and knowledge that comes from years of experience" who said "I don't have a clue"?
That isn't the conclusion he came to, or this thread wouldn't exist and you wouldn't be here to spread your usual doping-denial propaganda. You really need to learn to understand an article isn't merely a sentence or even a single phrase.

Of course he did. He doesn't have a clue.
So you are on a thread in which you think Burfoot is saying the exact opposite of what everyone here thinks he is saying, which is that Chepngetich is doping? He may have indicated he isn't claiming he doesn't know for certainty that she is doping but his article gives a pretty clear idea that is what he thinks or these pages have completely misunderstood his article. As you have.

Burfoot hasn’t been involved with elite running in the modern era. His opinion isn’t really that compelling.

The 120 IQ club seem to love him, though.😘
So how has running changed in the modern era except to have become taken over by doping?
