The best thing for US mens 800 hope, that Pete Julian coaches Kenyan 800m runners, He will destroy them and this will make it easier for US 800m runners
Digital flags are cheap, zero effort and have no place at a championship medal ceremony. 😡
Going to agree here. Something special about having actual flags at a medal ceremony. Tradition that’s gone on for a long time. It’s a bit sad to have the digital.
Simple. If the judges feel that the false start was caused by a flinch but not an actual early jump, they can give a yellow card. The obviously thought her movement did not give her an advantage.

Is Britt Wilson running this indoor season? The 2023 edition could have been a very interesting matchup against Femke.
It still could be interesting, depending on Alexis Holmes' strategy in the final. Easily the most overlooked performance Friday was Holmes storming out of the blocks from lane 2 and nearly beating Bol to the break. Bol didn't seem to realize that was a possibility. She turned her head left just in time to see where Holmes was. Bol accelerated to win the break. Her 200 time was faster than she ever uses in a heat.
Tomorrow Holmes will have a better lane in the final and her strategy will dictate how the race unfolds. She can decide to settle behind Bol. But that could lead to a 3-way logjam with Klaver and Diggs. All of them figure to enter that space just behind Bol at 200.
Holmes' other option is try to win the break even if it means going out faster than ideal. That would throw the entire second lap into chaos. But it could also mean that Holmes might falter badly late.
I hope Holmes attempts it. It would force Bol to make a decision and possibly have to run her fastest opening 200 ever to win the break. Bol lost twice during Belgrade indoor 2022 when she was second at the break.
Whilst Holmes has looked very good these Champs, Bol is over 1 second faster on paper and has beaten her in heat and semi. Perhaps Holmes will change her tactic in the final, but Bol is faster over 200m too, so it will harm Holmes more than Bol if the American goes out faster.
Bol never had 1 second in hand of McPherson in 2022, hence had difficulty overtaking.
Diggs looked like she was flat out the whole race in semi 1, whilst Klaver looked like she was more controlled. Again, Klaver is faster than her over 200 and 400, so should beat her. But it should be a good battle for silver between Holmes and Klaver, possibly Klaver with the advantage because of the lane draw. However , if Holmes does decide to go out hard, kamikaze style, then Klaver's habit of allowing Bol to lead might mean she ends up with an elbow battle with jer teammate.
Nobody watching Day 2? Duguma from Ethiopia just crushed a 1:58 800 in Semi #1 as all 3 African Women advanced to the Final. And now Reekie has to line up against Alemu in #2.
She is fit, very impressive race by her. Finals will be interesting.
Yep. Does Alemu play rabbit again for the speedsters behind here? That teen Duguma is inexperienced but looked great winning her Heat. The crowd will be in a frenzy if Reekie can take gold over all 5 Africans tomorrow.
And Harris grabs the rail in M 800 at the start but Vroom vroom takes 2nd 200. Harris gets nipped for 3rd by Kramer somehow, as Garcia takes it easily.
