We are all so very grateful that you exist. You are a hero. But I can never figure out who is clean and who is not. I need to start paying attention to you. Maybe you can help me figure it out. It is like with fresh produce. Maybe you could come out with your list of the dirty dozen.
I think many of us just feel kinda weird about the entire Wiley/Huntington situation. Wiley is an amazing talent but I still can't help feel kinda icky every time I read a Wiley thread --
If she ever makes a clean break with Huntington (and Johnsons) it would be a lot easier.
I would like to see Tuohy do what Wiley has done.

800 - Wiley 1:57, Tuohy 2:10
1500 - Wiley 3:55, Tuohy 4:03
5000 - Wiley 14:32, Tuohy 15:01
Don't compare a legitimate college athlete to this pathetic dope cheat. My prediction is that Wiley pulls a Houlihan. Just a matter of time before the implosion.

I mostly agree with this. I wouldn't get carried away. Wiley might be able to run 3:59 in a time trial set up. But so far she is far less prone to tactical errors at 800 than 1500. Or rather she has proven strong enough that at 800 she can trail early, run extra distance, and still finish extremely well. That was true in Atlanta and in Bellinzona.
Contrast to the two biggest 1500s or her career to date. Both times she allowed herself to get boxed and shuffled back, forced to do too much on the third lap and early fourth lap to get back into contention. And her kick really suffered as a result.
I'm not really surprised about today. Wiley is very ambitious and says she watches the top pro races. She's raved about Kipyegon. Two weeks ago after the 3:55 semifinal I posted that Wiley would have watched that race and realized she needs to step up her game even both than she previously believed.
Plus you want to uphold the promoter's faith in you. This was huge trust and opportunity. Nobody wants to be invited all the way to Switzerland and then flunk out back in the pack. The extra motivation is like a golfer who overachieves while on sponsor's exemption.
She was also more or less maxed out in the start of today's race. You can tell from her stride that she didn't have the top speed or acceleration of the others in the field. She's rocking back and forth. Yet, even in last, she ran about 27.2 for the first 200m and she held on really well. I'd think that it would be ideal for her type to run roughly 28.5/29 (57.5)/29.5/29.5 (59) for a 1:56.5 in a time trial or in single file set up race with a leader in 1:55. I see this happening next year.

Along the way she PRd several times
First of all, she hasn't quite dropped 7 seconds since her HS PR as a jr
Secondly, that's a span of 794 days (as a reminder there are ~365 days in a year)
Third, her PR in HS came in the only 800 of her jr/sr year that she didn't absolutely destroy the field en route to a win
Fourth, her 2:02.33 indoor PR from 2/11/23 was in a race she won by nearly 6 seconds
Shouldn't be shocking for an international talent to step up their game when they are no longer competing against HS or NAIA athletes, but rather their peers.
