No one cares about 5k times. 1 in 1,000 people maybe have even heard of Kipchoge. Everyone knows who Usain Bolt is. Point is no one cares about any distance over 400 meters.
Miller is a hack even for a collegiate athlete. If I wanted to see a 14 flat vs 15 flat race, I’d go to a local college dual meet.
Hmmm, I thought we just watched a 100mi race with 30000ft of vertical gain? But I guess all I needed to do was look up old random results from college and I would’ve known the results immediately.
If these races are just an easy jog for you, why haven’t you been entering the biggest races and gobbling up all the prize money? Seems like the easiest way out there to make a living. Someone like you probably doesn’t even need to train for these cake walks.

Best place to find info is podcasts from what I’ve found. She did a good one with Rich Roll. She basically goes out the door and lets her legs tell her what she should do for the day. I’m sure most days she is doing something like 4-5hrs. But as far as workouts I think she just surges up a hill when it feels good to do so. I’ve taken this approach on a much smaller scale and it reignited my love for running and has me way more in-tune with my body.
while I agree about Walmsley this is a dumb take re Courtney. Road results mean nothing for a race like UTMB and aside from that she dominates in various ultras including at Backyard style ultras. There maybe be less competition among the women but that doesn’t really mean much when she’s lowering CR’s by huge margins and so far ahead of second in pretty much every race she does.
I agree that it's ridiculous to compare Courtney to other dominate female runners. Richardson isn't the same as Kipyegon because they run completely different things. Ultra distance is a different sport than other long-distance races (even marathons). I love Courtney's spirit and her ability in a variety of ultras.

It's strange to me that so many people on a running forum, who ostensibly run (although, for many, I doubt it), act like running one type of race relates in any way to another type of race. Are you really that stupid? Sprinting isn't middle distance. Middle distance isn't long distance. Middle distance isn't road racing. Road racing isn't marathons. Marathons aren't ultras.

There may be less women than men in the 100 mile distance but a whole slew of women have entered in the last 10 years and couldn’t even come close to Ellie’s time. Camille Herron who has won comrades and holds WR couldnt hope to even finish anywhere near Courtney at any of these races, there’s a benchmark right there for ya. World class road athlete getting dusted by Courtney.

Not only did Courtney dust Ellie's record, but so did Katie Schide. To me that adds to how unbelievably good Courtney is at trail ultras. Katie is a great runner and would have crushed a record had she not been racing Courtney.
Just because you haven’t heard of them doesn’t mean they aren’t good. A large percentage of the pro women’s fields have non-running backgrounds, but we’re extremely successful in sports like cycling, triathlon and various skiing disciplines.
Heather Jackson finished 20th in the OCC 50k race and she is a multi-time WC medalist in Ironmans and track cycling.

Isn't that true of every single sport? Look at baseball with players like Ohtani. Bowlers like Jason Belamonte. Sports progress...this is a cold take.
The cool thing about Courtney is she seems like she will be welcoming of that growth in the sport. She was the one letting kids run beside her, high fiving all the kids she could, and going back out there after she finished to thank the spectators.

Grant Fisher’s 5k pr is ~ .5sec off Kipchoge’s, and his 10k pr is faster. Should we just give Grant the marathon WR right now?
