I think people underestimate just how just likely it is for the nxn committee to give 1 bid to both California and Northeast. Given the rankings and west speed ratings for cal those regions are most likely going to do extremely well at their regional meet. Bid 1 - Riverton, Bid 2/3 - NE/CA 3rd, Bid 4 - vandegrift/franklin/niwot. I don't think Plainsfield South is in contention with a 15:40 team average Lavern Gibson. This is just my prediction.

I did some cross checking from last year. NXN course last year was around 15 seconds slower than Bowdoin Park. The data sets don't look very good for Belen Jesuit / CBA come NXN.
If conditions are anything like last year, there will be a few teams averaging under 15:35 average this year at Glendoveer Golf Course. That is absolutely crazy. Newbury Park averaged 15:21. That is a 15:50 average at Bowdoin Park. 15:02 average at Woodward Park, 14:37 average at Huntsville Park

It will be kind of sad if Plainfield South is selected. They have a resume of beating autoqualifier Plainfield North, but PN won’t finish very high at NXN.
Downers Grove North is the only nationally elite team in the Midwest.

Haven't followed NXN for a few years, I noticed that Fayetteville Manlius had neither boys or girls teams in the race. Did they drop the sport? When did they disappear?
The two auto qualifiers on the boys side from the NY region are extremely lucky (averaged 16:51 and 16:56 today) good for maybe 5th/6th place finish in the NE.

That’s their first time at NXN too. Good for them.
They will likely finish in the bottom 2. SE #2 will probably be third to last.
Just to put how strong the SW region is into perspective....today two boys from Colorado who finished 41st and 30th at NXR SW finished 7th and 10th at Footlocker Midwest today. A Colorado girl who finished 17th at NXR SW, placed 7th.

To be fair, both of those CO boys didn't run well at NXR. It's good to see them both bounce back. But, yes, the SW is DEEP.

Both boys and girls teams had 9 people each on the roster. They always had small numbers, but never this small. I think it was Covid that made the participation so small.
Also, I read somewhere that Aris would not take their team to NXR if he thinks they have no chance of making NXN.
McGinn did a really phenomenal job at NXR today though.

Westin Brown is gone for the year, so it doesn't matter if they had him or not for NXN qualification purposes. Great Oak beating San Clemente when they had Westin Brown doesn't benefit them today.

Westin Brown is gone for the year, so it doesn't matter if they had him or not for NXN qualification purposes. Great Oak beating San Clemente when they had Westin Brown doesn't benefit them today.
He almost didn’t score for Great Oak at Clovis and they still beat San Clemente. As did Oakdale
Will guys running at Footlocker regional meets and struggling impact their ability to get one of the five at large spots? With the NXN committee seeking "upward trending individuals," I would think if they race poorly at a race post their NXR regional, it would be a negative.
