Well certainly not in a D1 meet. But this is something other HU athletes have done at the NAIA meet. That they subsequently sued the school and petitioned to have their championships rescinded because their coach was doping them is purely coincidental.
No. What D1 athlete cojld have done it in NAIA this year? None.
That is a good thought experiment.
The times she ran are not very fast. I think any number of D1 middle distance finalists could stroll into the NAIA meet and run those times as a workout.

Absolutely. Tuohy, Maatoug, and Gregory at the top of the list of athletes that could pull it off.

Those athletes could win, if Wiley wasn’t running the same races. She is a top tier D1 talent with absurd range.

Took a look at the men’s side, just for curiosity’s sake. 1:16/1:50/4:07/8:17 were the winning times for 600, 800, mile, and 3k.
I think there are a decent number of good D1 middle distance runners could pull off everything except the 1:16 in one meet. Heck, high schoolers pull off 1:50/4:07/8:17 triples every few years in the bigger state meets. But 1:16 is very fast — not sure how many guys would have the wheels for that and the endurance to put everything together in one day.
Obviously a ton of controversy regarding Wiley for very good reasons. But there’s no denying that her range is incredible. I think anyone saying that many elite D1 women could easily pull off a comparable quintuple is underestimating the difficulty of a 1:29 600. There are/historically have been people who could definitely pull it off, but I’d think more the 8/15 type than the 15/5k runners.
Also, as an addendum to my previous post: please don’t take it as anything sort of defense of whatever is happening at Huntington. How their program is still allowed to exist is mind boggling beyond comprehension.

Yea the 600m is an oddball. The ideal NCAA candidate will have to be a true middle distance runner who hopes to hang in there in the 3k.
