With the flat track conversion it will be about 4:29.5 and Maatuog at about 4:29.9.
I had a feeling Maatoug would do well here. She has basically qualified for nationals in 4 events - 800m, mile, DMR (she ran anchor) & 3k. What will her event be?
They were both well positioned early on. It’s not appearing to be a “speed thing”, it looked more like a speed endurance-thing, which is odd considering the majority of their training has been base still.
I thought that both of them would be hovering right at 4:30… Hmmmm
I'm not so concerned about Tyynismaa. She was still building back from injury in the fall, just switched teams, and they may just be prepping her for outdoors anyway.
Bush otoh, kind of surprising ... the top nc state women seem to be running at or slightly behind their PRs.

Yeah, the 8:59.25 Chmiel ran today in the 3k is a new PR. Gionna Quarzo also ran a PR in the 3k today, as well as Grace Hartman in the mile.
