The same, who curious shares a screen name with UF's coach, tried to argue that Valby and Tuohy had identical progressions or something. It was drivel.
Valby's 15:20 was worth 15:05 AT LEAST. Her 1st 3k was 9:23 - right around 5:00 pace which is 15:37 pace. She then RIPPED the last 2k, which indicates insane fitness. Her last 5 laps:
1:12.69 - 1:11.90 - 1:11.94 - 1:10.60 - 1:09.88 - Her last 1600 was 4:44.
After coming up short by a few seconds, and losing the 5000m championship to touhy this past spring, she said in her post-race interview something to the effect that she was only running a couple days/week (coming back from injury). So if she was telling the truth, why wouldn’t we see improvement after more consistent training?
I do believe she was doing a lot of non running work the rest of each week.
Huh? The guy doped for NOP and is expressly mentioned as a Dr. Brown "patient". Would you say he should coach college with a positive doping test? Well this is easily the equivalent. Coaches who doped as competitors will not have any scruples doping their athletes. See Huntington University.
Jonathan Gault: What do you think has been the key to your improvement this year?
Parker Valby: I’ve only been training for about 3 to 4 weeks(after injury) now and I only run 2 days a week so I honestly credit all my success to cross training.
This was after getting 2nd to Tuohy at Outdoor Nationals.

Maybe chill with the incessant posting dude. Anyway solinsky ran for BTC not NOP. Do you know anything?
Obsessed? Guilty as charge. My mind is blown. How The Hell Is A Guy Directly Connected To Dr Brown And Salazar Allowed To Coach In College? And then one of his athletes pops off.

so, what you are saying is Tuohy's 15:18 was "worth" close to 15:00? 2 seconds faster over the last 1600. Just trying to understand......
All of Tuohy's biggest supporters would have agreed at the time that she could run close to 15:00. 15:18 with a 4:42 last 1600 indicates around 15:00. She did run a 15:14 in April when she was nowhere close to her peak (NCAAs was June 11th).
Letesenbet Gidey ran 14:23 at 20 years old. Why can't a clean American run 14:40 at 20 years old? And we're only talking about an inaccurate conversion to only 14:51.
An anonymous poster claims that the brightest young American is doping and the former American record holder was doping. He deems Solinsky not worthy to coach even though the AD at a high level college with a high level athletics program hired him. Sounds like Astro is reliable.
If you think that is all Dr. Brown and the athlete did, I have bridges to sell you. All I know is the guy is directly connected to two individuals serving doping bans.
A mind-blowing time like this, which is about 20 seconds ahead of the fastest ever NCAA 6x xc times that I have seen, screams short course or rising star. I think it's a combination of rising star and fast but legit course. 2nd place was Addie Engel of Ohio State in 20:02. She had run only 20:54 and 20:39 this year but ran 19:59 at regionals last year and 20:15 at NCAAs. So either the course was a little short or it is just very fast and that, plus Valby's incredible pace, led Engel to running close to her best time. Valby ran 15:20 as a freshman after 19:41 in xc, so she is one of the best talents ever in the NCAA.
Do you guys forget that Weini Kelati ran 18:58 at altitude just a few years ago. There is no point in trying to convert her time to 5000m track because everyone reacts differently to hills, dirt, grass, etc. Some people run as fast as they would on the track and others struggle.

I’ll just post the race here. Kelati clearly worked for it but it was definitely not an all out race. Most of the reason we haven’t seen faster times is because times don’t really matter in cross country. Just calm down and be happy that Tuohy has quality competition. It’s good for the sport.
