Why do pages keep getting deleted from this thread? It took me back to 108 and I started this morning at 110

Maybe I only notice them because I've posted several of them, but every time inconsistencies are pointed out in this story that is ever-so-close-to-being-published are pointed out, that seems to trigger a fresh batch of deletions.

For the record (as long as it lasts), the latest odd one was someone claiming that the story was a couple of weeks away from being in a Michigan newspaper. That generated a few disbelieving comments, and then a reply to the effect of "if you talked to clarksonkent/scotth it will be coming out." That despite previous posts that clarkson/scott is no longer writing it (although he likes to drop posts in implying that he is: "patience, I've got you right where I want you"), and that it was going to be in a national magazine, not a newspaper.

I agree with the idea that junk master had (deleted, I think): we should have a pool as to when this article emerges. I'll take never.

I am sorry. What more do you want? I did not profit financially from this. The damage that this has caused to my practice and reputation has been immesurabe. I have stopped running in most races. Boston was planned many years ago, I qualified and I'm going. Can't you folks just give me some peace?

A full and frank interview with Clarkston Kent or the person writing the article admitting everything and explaining (in detail, we can guess the basics from what we have seen) how he did it.

"Stop" what, exactly. Crusading for fair play?

With a little thought, it's pretty simple to piece together most of what would probably satisfy most people here.

1. Much of this thread has been about researching & exposing the truth about Kip's cheating. ALL the cheating. So, to address this, Kip would probably need to publicly come clean about all the cheating he has done. Once it is ALL exposed, there would be little else to research. Make sense so far?

2. Another key theme of this thread has been to try to prevent future cheating. So, for Kip to "stop" tihs, he'd need to, um, stop cheating. Obviously, people will be skeptical of Kip's future performances so it'd probably help his cause to publicly announce his future races (at least for a little while) so anyone who wants to tag along/monitor can do so. Doing races under aliases, etc probably won't help "stop this". Still with me?

3. Returning the prizes & prize money from races he cheated at, so the people that earned it receive it would be a good third step.

There might be more, but those are the first big three that come immediately to mind when I first thought "what a stupid question" after reading your post.

Now, of course if by "what would make you people stop", you were referring to the non-productive posts about compression socks, etc.. I have no idea what's going on there. Those people should probably stop. Fiber might help.

Agree totally, the morons aren't helping at all and the people who keep threatening to stamp their foot and burst into tears if they don't get the story they somehow deserve printed tomorrow should do themselves a favour and stop reading this thread.

Kip also has property there too.

does Kent Litton even exist though? His facebook account looks exactly the same as Kip's does but it only has one profile pic that was posted just last week.

Seems like a pretty obvious fake to me, oddly attention-seeking I thought. I tried emailing mythical "writer"

You are correct. The latest was a mix of people claiming they were going to go to "see" Kip in person, and also another claim of an article being cleared to run in an MI newspaper. Also a post by mr. "Writestuffdavis". And a call out on scotth again.

Very odd how these are the posts that get deleted.

It's certainly true for me. I'd guess it's true for most of the people who have actually contributed something to the discovery process.

I'm also sure there is certainly some entertainment, or fascination, or detective challenge for some. This is bizarre stuff, so that's only to be expected.

One final thing - if by "stop this" your were referring to jokes & references about Kip & his cheating (at least within inner circles within the running community if not here on LetsRun)... I would venture to say that will take a long time, if it ever ends. Kip has built himself quite a reputation. I would guess that will be fairly long-lasting.
