Is that a different hat at the end? If so, where does he get it from - and why? Where does he chuck his nice windbreaker? I think there must be a co-conspirator involved.
Any particular reason that you have ruled out him going to his car after going across the start mat and driving to the next mat?
You are smarter than that friend. There is no "guessing that he, too, must agree".
His friends and family know, as well does Mr. Baxley whether it is or isn't Kip. I used logic and didn't get a response either, why? Because he couldn't answer simple questions that show beyond a "reasonable doubt" of him telling the truth. Off course Oscar is right, this is not rocket science. You've providing compelling evidence of his cheating and he hasn't responded.
Has anyone thought about someone else starting the race with KL's chip, hitting the checkpoints, then switching for KL to make his big finish? Like Boston where it would have been difficult to do on your own.
NOT a new theory. Has been brought up before.
Hypothetically, Kip could have someone run hard till halfway or thereabouts, then he, who is seen starting at the back of the pack, gets up the course by bike or car and switches chips with an accomplice and Kip finishes.
Many, many possibilities, but Kip does start the race, does miss early mats, does have his number hidden, and no one has seen the same person repeatedly running sub 3 hours in small or bigger marathons and then suddenly steps off the course where he and Kip make the Kip, err, chip exchange. People would most likely remember someone who ran that pace for many miles.

He is actually wearing a different pair of shoes it looks like. the shoes he's wearing at the starting line have a blue stripe or something, whereas the shoes at the finish are like completely white. also there was a ballcap change and the socks got pulled up...also the red bandana Kip is wearing when he crosses the starting line...i dont think he has a bandana on anymore at the finish but cannot tell...
This is a trail marathon too - the times are not fast.
Kudos to the racestaff at this race for the DQ....the faces do look a little different. hopefully he doesnt have an accomplice with a sharper face
Different socks and different shoes from the start to finish but the same shorts:) Hat pulled to far over his head at the start, obviously intentional. Pull the hat back, pull the face up and expose the number and it's you know who.
If he had a co-conpirator at the start, here is no reason for him to be at the start at all. The easiest way to cheat if he were running it with help as a relay would be to hide out in a pre-determined port-o-pottie, exchange chips, and continue on.
Respectfully I never said he had a co-conspirator and actually said that was him at the start, hence my response. The other poster thought that. I have seen many videos and photos of him at the start. I know why he does it as it is obvious. I don't believe in the co-conspirator theory although I would say that it's possible for him to have one trusted person in on it all that helps to get him from point to point. Do I believe that, no. Is it possible, yes. I believe he is acting alone and just finds the right spots. Also I am sure that he's been seen entering the course, but an average spectator isn't going to think anything as he can play the bathroom game and then walk along the course and blend in when he feels comfortable, as has been said many times before. Long explanation, but your response warranted it:)
I see that Dan Baxley is based in Clearwater, Florida -- certainly he is the connection to Kip's participation in the Gasparilla and other southwest Florida races.
I'm a fairly regular participant in Clearwater/Tampa area races, and I've never seen Baxley's name. I just did a search of local race results, and he doesn't show up, which supports the notion that he has no real running expertise.
