another ridiculous spectacle at the finish line in the ladies with them all scattered over the truck, but I give it to Rowbury for running more courageously here than I've seen in a long time. That is, instead of shadowing Simpson, she rightly shadowed Muir, figuring that could lead to an American record. Kipyegon looked very strong and then the wheels came off and she almost pulled up on the homestretch--injured? Simpson looked to be going for the win in the last 100m and by going when she did, boxing Rowbury, but she did not have quite the kick. The very finish though was questionable. Did Rowbury grab Muir or what? Is a dq possible there? Solid time but they should have been out in 2:06. That gave them a lot to do.
Hill and Kejelcha were clearly tired from running 7:30 and 7:28 4 days ago, so give them a break.
Lavillenie and Kendricks in joint first with the same number of misses, after clearing 5.9o they chose to skip 5.96 and go for 6.01, they both have 1 miss right now

- Kipyegon just had to finish what, 5th to win DL and she stupidly races out front for the win, fades badly and loses big jackpot.
- In the Oly marathon the shortest route is clearly marked and the E African women are running all over the place not taking tangents the way the US and other women are. See this on many other televised marathons as well
- Steeple winner in Oly had a crack at WR and lets up at the end (ya ya she got it later).
- Ayana runs perhaps the dumbest 5000 ever and ruins her chance at double gold.
- And who can forget Beijing Olympic marathon with Nderaba thinking she was in first the entire way, not even realizing until too late that Dita was in front! Duh.
I have to also blame their coach and managers, which in Kenyan we know is often not the best.

It WAS better because it was a win in one of the biggest races of the year. When T&F News does their rankings they look at the win AND the quality of the field. This was a big win for Rowbury.

Kendricks seems to be the best sport I've seen in track since Chaunte Lowe at Paris in 2010.
Why does this meet have three female distance races but only one male distance race? Zurich used to have all the Olympic or World final fields in all the events.
