The first of 2 DL finales is on Thursday and it looks like it's going to be spectacular.
Can a US man break 13:00? Could the AR fall in the 1500? Who will win the $40,000 bonuses?

We preview the action for you here:
W800:
1. Semenya: 1:54.8
2. Niyonsaba:1:56.2
3. Bishop: 1:56.9
4. Wambui: 1:57.3
9. Kate Grace: 1:59.1
W1500:
1. Kipyegon: 3:58.8
2. Muir: 3:59.6
3. Hassan: 3:59.8
4. Obiri: 4:00.3
6. Simpson: 4:01.2
7. Rowbury: 4:01.5
W3000 SC:
1. Kiyeng: 9:01
2. Jebet: 9:03
3. Coburn: 9:06
4. Assefa: 9:08
8: Quigley: 9:18
11: Garcia: 9:22
M5000:
1. Gebrhiwet: 12:56
2. Kejelcha: 12:57
3. Iguider: 12:57
4. Ahmed: 12:58
5. Jaeger: 12:59
7: Chelimo: 13:01
8: Mead: 13:01
12. Hill: 13:06
14: Lagat: 13:11
Bump
Wambui isn't losing to Bishop tomorrow, and Semenya won't win by over a second because she'll hold it till the last 100m. Also I don't see Jebet losing to Kiyeng again after recent form. Hill and Lagat will probably beat Mead in the 5K.
Other than that your predictions are OK, if not a bit conservative times-wise.
See "Quotes - Media conference with the international top athletes" on the Zurich site. It's about Thompson, Schippers, Felix, Kendra Harrison, Taylor...
Nobody gives a damn about the distance crap.

Collectively, a gaggle of "nobodies". Close enough.

Cuz the Swiss are so fat, besides that Viktor Rothlin guy. In America, people are fit and we care about distance.
Selina Buchel, great Swiss 800M runner. But since not many people can watch that event now, it is not a surprise that not many people know about Buchel etc.
I'm actually more interested in seeing the Fifth Avenue Mile this year. Clayton Murphy vs Centro; Jenny vs Muir; great stuff. The races are only 2 days apart.
Agree with most predictions, but the 5000m will be won in no slower than 12:52. Kejelcha is on a roll and doesn't suffer from post-Olympic fatigue.
Muir 3:53
Paul Chelimo
Except that the pace makers are going to set a 13:10 pace :(

No they aren't. That was a typo by the race organizers. Pace has been updated on the website to 7:44 for 3k which is 12:53 pace.
I'm combining the prediction thread with the official discussion thread.

Ummmm, ok. Apparently, you've never been to Walmart.
Cool. My guess is Kejelcha for the win in 12:48.99.
JAGER IN 12:55 for second.

2. Paul Chelimo
Chelimo beat Hill badly in Paris (7:30 to 7:37)
The women's 1500 is only going through in 2:08 which is ridiculous. It should be 2:06 minimum give the shape some of the runners are in
Reid Buchanan and Des Linden rip Eliud Kipchoge on twitter - "Give me a break"
Oh the irony. What if it turns out the new $500 adidas shoe is just way better than Nike's?
Connor Burns/Simeon Birnbaum not allowed to post on Strava per Jerry
American men bombed, are we not going to send 3 to the Olympics?
Should slow kids be kicked of high school cross country teams ?
