Hey guys, how did the USATF championship 1500 go yesterday? Because I heard that Hocker is a "championship racer" who "wins when it matters" (even if he hasn't won a major national/international 1500 since August 2024).
Let's take a look...
Dunking is fun.
Fair is fair, Hocker didn't have it yesterday. Now he doesn't have the chance to prove his championship bona-fides at World Indoors. Of course, can we properly acknowledge that the US system where Hocker has to race a loaded 3,000m field 24 hours before a 1500 makes this especially difficult for an athlete who wants to double? If you come from pretty much any other country, indoors if you hit the standard you're in no questions asked. He ran 3:45.94 so I have a hard time believing he's going backwards in the 1500/mile. We'll see outdoors when he'll probably have the Diamond League and World Ultimate Champs to state his case. The men's 5000m comes first in the schedule, but Hocker would have 48 hours, not 24 to recover. We'll see how he handles it.
