With his achievements so far, his WRs, his global golds, his unmatched European golds he already has to be ranked ahead of Farah.
European golds - spare me! You left out Norwegian championship titles. Farah has 10 outdoor global championship golds, including an incredible repeat of the "Viren double". Ingebrigtsen is nowhere near that and never will be.
7:17.55 against 7:32.62 (in pure record attempt)
Yes, 20+ European golds. Against world champions, 3:27 and sub 12:50 athletes.
Exactly 1 metric where Farah leads: global outdoor golds. In ANY other metric Jakob is CLEARLY ahead.
If your only measure is the 1st one, Farah by far is the greatest runner (athlete?) in history.
The only question that matters now about Ingebrigtsen isn't about how his kick measures up historically but will he ever get back to his previous form or is a demonstrated susceptibility to Achilles strains going to end his career prematurely.
He has the fastest finishing times in 5000m championship races in history - do with it what ever you want.
Will he be back at his previous best (or better)? We can't know. I'm sceptical that he will, but I wish him the best (also I'm not a fan).
No it isn't, it's defined by how fast you closed and comparing it to other fast closes in history. El G beating Bekele in a race where the final 1k wasn't even faster than 2:24 simply doesn't compare to Ingebrigtsen closing in 2:21. Ingebrigtsen's kick would in 23/24 would beat anyone in history other than 2008 Bekele. The splits show that.
Farah indeed won more 5000m titles than Ingebrigtsen, but in not a single one did he close as fast Ingebrigtsen. Put them in the same race and he loses every single time.
We will never put them in the same race so Farah remains ahead of Ingebrigtsen for championship victories over the 5k. After the last world's that is unlikely to change. Ingebrigtsen was truly The Man With No Kick.
Except that isn’t the point of the thread. Jakob has closed far faster than Farah in any of his victories. So he has the best kick in history. We aren’t discussing present form.
Olympic Champion, Two time world champion, 3x European Champion. Do you even know what you are talking about? He has been running the event since a teenager.
He has run the event a total of about 8 times in as many years. He almost matches Viren for being invisible in the event for long periods. That is hardly "showing up". (And Viren achieved a repeat double Olympic victory that Ingebrigtsen never will.)
So what? He doesn’t run to please you. He has run every championship 5000 available to him other than in Tokyo 2021. And among those championships, he has the fastest ever finishes among various final distances (final 400, 1000, 2000, 3000 etc). That is literally the point of this thread. But keep going, it’s amusing watching you get butthurt over the simple facts I laid out in my original post. No amount of going on tangents changes that fact.
People know him as Olympic champion, World champion, European champion, World Record holder.
People also know you as The Manlet With No Life.
So what do they know him as after the last world's? Where was the greatest 5k kicker in those championships? Are we talking now about Hocker? As for "world record-holder" - nothing in any outdoor global championship distance. The 1500/mile, 5k and 10k are further away than ever.
He was injured, but his performance in 2023/2024 shows that he has the best kick ever in the 5000m. Any discussion on present form is irrelevant. Also, any discussion on World Records are irrelevant as well.
That's not a kick. He might have the best kick off a fast pace. Hocker's win calls even that into contention. He's taken the next step. Jakob needs a new dimension if he wants to win anything anymore. Otherwise he is chasing time trial world records and nothing else
You’ve provided zero proof for your rebuttals or claims. Try reading my post again and trying again.

Then start a new thread about that topic. The only question now is how many posts will it take for you to realize you have bombarded this thread with irrelevant, butthurt, tangents that have nothing to do with the contents of the thread?
Whenever someone perfectly describes you and your behaviors you give the same answer. He was right. You are the ‘I know you are what am I’ type like many other gay guys like yourself revert to when they get in arguments. And like a lot of your fellow Lavender Annies your OCD and rampant projection are out of control. It’s not our fault you are what you are and that you have impossible, never to be met longings and desires for Jakob. That doesn’t mean you have to spend your life screaming about him 24/7 for “ignoring” you. Chill out. 🤣
Here comes another ‘I know you are but what am I’ post. The craving for Norwegian Wood has truly driven this creature over the edge.

Farah never went for records. The global golds is the only metric that matters here - 10-4. That shows he's more a winner on the biggest stage than Ingebrigtsen is.

So much energy and passion expended on another poster. So what have you to offer on the thread subject?

So still having difficulties coping with views that don't match your own.

His present form is everything. That's where he is now, including his "kick". He wasn't injured in Tokyo. He was merely slow.

Farah had a better finish. 10-4.
I don’t care. Has nothing to do with the subject of the thread.

His present form doesn’t change the kick he displayed in the 2023/2024 global 5000m finals. The facts are still in my original post if you’d like to read them again.

Armstronglivs argues just to argue. Being a contrarian is the only way he has interactions with anyone outside the rest home staff. He was buried by several posters and all he could do was accuse them of being off topic, which is his specialty.
More random figures. So how many of those races were international events and not local races? .
So you have agreed that you were completely wrong again.
1 national race, 1 local race.
Yet the argument often made here is that he hasn't run enough 5k races to improve his pr from 12:48 in more than 3 years. That's not going to happen any time soon. Especially with his new "kick".
