Why is it that all the anti-Gjert people here are the only ones attacking other people’s character in this discussion? It’s hypocritical for the people who are so judgmental about the towel incident to be so verbally abusive. Maybe you should look in the mirror before casting aspersions on others.
It wasn’t a matter of merely Jakob’s word vs Gjert’s that yielded the not guilty verdict. “The decisive factor in the court’s conclusion was that there was no evidence that created a continuous fear in his children. The court has particularly emphasized that several close family members and outside witnesses have not seen or experienced abuse.”
Apart from the fact that the court found him guilty of abusing his daughter you are effectively saying Jakob was lying about his father. So how do you come to that conclusion?
I reached the conclusion that Gjert is not guilty of the more serious charges alleged by Jakob when I read that the court found him to be not guilty of those charges.
It kind of seems like Jakob and his siblings took a doomed approach to the prosecution. It definitely sounds like they all had stressful childhoods with immense pressure to be world class athletes, all under the spectacle of a reality show that made them nationally famous. That kind of emotional abuse wouldn't be enough to out Gjert behind bars though, so it sounds like they scrounged for a handful of physical incidents that were actually potentially criminalizing.
I have no doubt that Gjert was a terrible father and traumatized his children, but the physical abuse alone isn't enough to lock him up. I'm not condoning child abuse at all, but if every child who was hit once or twice in his/her lifetime in an isolated emotional incident was taken by CPS and put into the foster system, we'd see a lot of kids going into much worse living situations.

He is guilty of assaulting his daughter. That isn't serious? You don't care? Also, not guilty effectively means not proven, it doesn't mean his innocence was proven. So was Jakob lying?

You're assuming these acts of abuse were isolated. That charges were brought by his children as adults suggests they weren't. They had simply had enough of what they had been subject to over their lives.

I said “more serious charges”. Jakob alleged that Gjert punched him many times when he was 8 years old and kicked him in the stomach. Jakob’s allegations are more serious than the charge of striking Ingrid one time with a small towel.
Yes, I have reasonable doubt about the veracity of Jakob’s claims based on the court’s rulings.
The court ruled that Jakob’s claims to have been knocked off his scooter and kicked in the stomach by his father in front of witnesses were “incomprehensible”, suggesting that someone would have surely reacted to a little boy being attacked.
It also dismissed prosecutors’ claims the Ingebrigtsen household had been “characterised by continuous insecurity and fear of violence” between 2008 and 2018. While it acknowledged Gjert was sometimes angry, it said it was “difficult to reconcile” the allegation with testimony from family friends, athletes and TV crews.
The court also pointed to a heated 30-minute argument between Gjert and Jakob at a training camp in St Moritz in 2019, which was recorded by Henrik without his father’s consent and later played in court, as evidence that Jakob was no shrinking violet.
The judges described it as “loud and rather pointless”, but added: “It must be emphasised that Jakob shows no sign of fear or submission towards the defendant.”
This has all the markings of a psyop. Suspicious pictures of everybody laughing. Likely they've signed up to the Illuminati's Grand Plan - Daddy's the Baddy.

So you're still saying you don't believe Jakob.
But if the charges he made were "more serious" does that mean the charges in respect of Gjert's daughter - for which he was convicted - were also serious?

You say “charges in respect of Gjert’s daughter.” He was found guilty of only one charge.
The small towel incident was somewhat serious but not as serious as the anti-Gjert brigade is making it out to be. It’s not serious enough to send him to jail over. It’s not serious enough to make him a pariah. It’s not serious enough to lose his coaching credentials over it.
There, I’ve answered all your questions. Now it’s your turn to answer mine.
If Gjert was such an abusive monster, why would Ingrid insist that he coach her? Why wouldn’t her older brothers talk her out of it?
By Ingrid’s own admission, Gjert expressed remorse about the small towel incident the next day. So then why did the brothers publish a hit piece on him nearly two years later?
Explain why there were no public issues for the rest of 2022 after Ingrid moved out of the house in January. What do you think changed in 2023? What was the motive for publishing that hit piece?
