PS. We didn't put this in the article, but for the record, when Kyle called Jonathan back, he started the interview by squashing the doping rumors.
"That could not be further from the truth relative to doping. That’s not true at all, so not quite sure where that came from."
Then he said this later:
"You have my word, nothing even remotely close [to doping]."
Instead of removing the posts that are filled with hate, lies, rumors, misogyny and unverified, libelous stupidity, these geniuses just require you be a "registered" user to post, which means absolutely nothing since their stupid 1980s site doesn't even require email verification to register a name. I just made this one 5 minutes ago.
"Please try to be kind and realize Parker very well could be reading what you are posting."
What a f'ing joke, like you actually care. If you did, you would simply remove the treads. The irresponsibility of the people that run this place is legendary and at some point it's going to bite them in the a$ and even section 230 won't be able to save them.
I merged the posts into this thread and got rid of the negative titles.
But I'm sorry - this is a website focused on elite running so I'm certainly not going to stop people from talking about why one of the most accomplished US collegians ever isn't racing after signing a massive contract and is now off of social media. I believe in free speech. I can't arbitrate truth.
But now that we see people making lots of allegations, we have proactively reached out to New Balance for comment to try to end this. If they make a statement, we can squash this instantly.
The reality is people are talking about it already on their phones in calls/texts. That's why the boards exploded tonight. My buddy called me about it around 7. He didn't see it on letsrun. This forum is just downstream of what the movers and shakers of the sport are talking about privately.
Rojo why did you delete my post all I said was that you are the second coming of Jesus Christ for getting on this thread? As you said, “Thank God”. And so God sent his only son, Rojo, down to earth to make sure the Letsrun message board wasn’t getting too rowdy. There was no better use of God’s time.

The flip side of this is though if New Balance does NOT release a statement by around 12 pm ET, then something is up. You can’t let your athlete be thrown around as a doper for multiple days, even if it’s just rumors.
Why would New Balance respond either way? I don't see the point in that. Do sponsors make statements when one of their athletes is banned? I've never bothered to check or care.
It seems to me the sponsor would remain silent either way. They can't go around responding to any rumor that isn't true. And if it is true they'll leave the athlete to deal with it himself/herself, without their brand attached.
If it happens to be true the mainstream articles will barely mention New Balance, if at all.
The sponsor might quietly impose a clause and terminate a contract. But that would be at a later date.
If you dope and your father is your agent, don't forget to tell him that Nike is the sponsor with the blood labs and medical expertise that you need to appear clean. You can't just sign with the highest bidder

So pathetic. They banned the last one, but because this place is a joke I just made another. I got all night. This is exactly why they will not be shielded by section 230, which requires that they: take "good faith" actions to restrict access to or availability of objectionable material, such as obscenity, lewd content, or harassment, to avoid being held liable. There is no good faith effort here when anyone can make an email and register and it doesn't even have to be a real email address. There is no verification of the email, there is no way to actually ban anyone from this site and therefore there is no good faith effort to protect anyone from harassment or anything else. Nico Young would be exhibit A.
When you get sued, you will not be protected by section 230. Last warning.
Sarah Lorge Butler will get the scoop on this story, while the brojos learn about what happened two days from now.
Sadly Sarah has left the running world.
No she hasn't. She left Runner's World, but has not left the running world, she hosts the Fast People podcast (Fast Women) and she still edits and helps with the Fast Women endeavors. Nothing you ever say is accurate. Just say no bro,
