Looks like a really good mile at Olaf. I can easily see McKee hanging on to run 4:13 or so if he truly is pacing. Looks like a battle for guys trying to break 9:00 and get into the fast heat of the 3K too.
Looking forward to seeing high school teammates Fitzgerald and Wiltse battle in the mile. If Wiltse is close to the former Montana State champion, that will say a lot about the great job of development Mac has done compared to other schools . . .
Help me understand why the Ole milers wouldn't run with the Scholastica guys? Is this some sort of Power Jedi mind trick where if his top guys don't race the Scholastica guys they will think they have a chance of beating them at conference? Or does he think they'll magically qualify for Nationals without racing?
You know, after thinking long and hard with my six brain cells I believe I’ve finally cracked this coconut! Maybe, stick with me, just maybe, he wants his milers to improve their place in the K for conference. Plus, MIAC dark horse Ethan Martel will prove enough of a challenge for the Scholastic Scholars.
Lars and long-lost twin brother Olaf Coffey are not allowed to be in the same race together or the space time continuum will crack. For the good of all humanity, Power is making the right choice here. Let us all applaud and bow at his feet.
Lelinga taking on the whole St. Thomas roster and Ramy Ayoub will be one to watch. Mo racing the rest of the Tommies roster in the 3K. A great chance to show the D1 crowd what D3 can do.
Parent vs. Nelson in the 400!
Not to be missed, a couple Johnnies looking to make the fast heat of the 3K.
And in a double that is sure to confuse Power for MIAC entries, Lelinga is also running the K on Saturday!

The Johnnies are all running 1000's at Mankato too. Maybe Maxwell gave Power some tips after his guys crushed the Oles at the U of M.
Will Kelly runs a converted 4:01.70 in a random Thursday night home meet. Interestingly, he never ran an indoor mile and never ran sub 4 in the 1500 at Olaf.
Obviously Wilkinson ran sub 4. Have any other MIAC alumni run sub 4 postgrad? Kelly seemingly has a good shot outdoor. He is so much faster than he last year. Wonder if he wishes he’d made the move to D1 earlier in his career?
Did Power make up the conversion? That seems hella sus.
The guy never broke 4:00 in the 1500 and onky ran under 2:00 a few times in the last four years and now all the sudden he’s close to a 4 minute miler? If it’s true, he was really being held back the last few years.
Even if the conversions are off by a few seconds that’s a huge PR for him and would out him near the top of the MIAC. For a guy geared toward longer distances that’s exciting. It’s great to see he’s getting the coaching he deserves and hopefully will run some high level steeples and a sub 14 5K later this spring.
Do you think there Coach ever looks at the men and thinks she could/should win a national championship with the level of athletes they’ve had? I’m sure she’s as unimpressed as the rest of us.
I'm so glad not to have to go to another poorly run meet at St. Olaf this year. The Johnnies will definitely put on terrific meet with more emphasis put on the athletes and not their own team.

We're talking about stupid lies and not two very important things.
One, Landen Liu is competing at the USA Championships today. He and Blaskowski are the only D3 sprinters in a professional meet.
And, as anyone mentioned that no national qualifying times can be run in anything besides the 60 and 60 hurdles at St. John's since they don't have a rail? I heard several coaches talking about it at Mankato yesterday. Supposedly when resurface a track you have to get a rail and the Johnnies didn't do.

This sounds like a Power rule. No way this is true. Rails are stupid anyway. We have a line on the track why do we need the rail? I bet St. John's didn't want to pay for something that is already painted on the line.
