So not having the fastest times or being anywhere near the wr doesn't matter for the 5k, only in the events where he does have those times. More blind fandom. I don't think that wr will be any time soon.
Yeah, it matters. I've said that fast times matter for the 1500 to determine who the best is right now, since all the top runners have the same amount of global golds. That's not the case in the 5k where Jakob is unbeaten, so there's no argument to be had over who's the best in that event.
And the other difference is that the fastest runners in the 5k are still active, while nobody who's faster than Jakob in the 1500 is still active, and Jakob makes them look like amateurs when he faces them in the 5k.
He rarely races the 5k and while he has the wins he doesn't have the best times in his era and is nowhere near the record. If he raced more often and in faster races he could lose more often. But he doesn't rank near the greats in this event, such as Bekele or even Farah, with his multiple championship victories. He has a long way to go. Just like the 1500. The 10k isn't even a question yet.

You're arguing with yourself again, nobody has claimed he's the best ever in the 5k. But considering the fact that he's competing against the fastest ever in the event and never lose against them he's got a damn good shot at becoming the best, and he's already faster than someone like Farah with a PB he set when he was just 20.
What makes you think someone who runs 3:26 and 7:17 would struggle in a fast race when not even the world record holder tries turning championship races he's in into a fast race?

Great observation. Haven't read this very often regarding Kerr and the 1500m.

Jakob doesn’t rank near Farah or Bekele in the 5K?
Jakob has three global golds (1 Oly, 2 WC) in the 5K. Compare this to Farah’s five 5K global golds (2 Oly, 3 WC) and Bekele’s three 5K global golds (1 Oly, 2 WC).
Jakob has a lifetime 5K PR of 12:48 compared to 12:37 for Bekele (WR at the time) and 12:53 for Farah.
Jakob has achieved all this at the age of 23, whereas Farah and Bekele won their first global 5K golds at the ages of 28 and 26, respectively. Farah set his PR at the age of 28. Bekele set his PR at the age of 22.
So Jakob doesn’t have the PR/WR of Bekele or the number of golds as Farah, he has matched a good amount of their accomplishments with a lot of career left (6-10 yrs) ahead of him.

An incredibly funny thing to say considering Jakob always races the European championships and even the Norwegian championships, even when he has absolutely nothing to gain from competing in the national championships other than performing in front of his hometown fans
When someone like Kerr says he doesn't compete in the European championships because he says it wouldn't mean anything for him to win it

Ingebrigtsen at age 23 has more global 5k Golds than Bekele (1 Oly, 1 WC - not 2 ) during his career.

And he is beloved by his countrymen for it!
Jakob is Norwegian through and through. He is married to his childhood sweetheart with whom he has a child. He lives in his hometown and trains with his brothers. Jakob loves Norway and Norway loves him.
Compare this to Josh Kerr—born in Scotland, attended college in New Mexico, currently living and training in Arizona. He has no roots! He’s still engaged after three years!! No friends, no family, no land!! Forget about the European Championships—he doesn’t even show up to Scottish Nationals. These championships don’t matter to Josh because the people and place are foreign to him. He only competes at the UK Champs because he needs a National uniform for the important races.
