We like to have 1 thread per topic so we merged two threads together and kept the title of this thread. The other thread was entitled, "Assefa performance."
Any time a world record is broken, the athlete's urine should be frozen and re-tested when a new breakthrough in testing comes about. If it turns out they were doping they should be executed.

This situation reminds me of when BJ first went 9.83 in Rome, to destroy the previous altitude-assisted WR by an unheard-of 0.10. 9.79 recovering from injury in Seoul was icing on the cake, a truly unbelievable figure, nine-point-SEVEN.
A new era in men’s sprints had begun. He would have gone 9.6’s had he continued.
This is what we are now seeing in women’s distance—but this time, we are seeing multiple women at the same new level, simultaneously, which is remarkable. In the men’s sprints, it took until 1996 for Ackbar to make the break in the 200, and until the 2000’s before we saw the big 5—Powell, Gay, Blake, Bolt, Gatlin—all at the same insane BJ level.
It would be as if some woman had set one of these new WR’s 20 years ago, in 2003, and only sporadic such athletes in the interim.
But no: here we have them all at the same level at the same time, without any warning. This is a mass effort, like “migrants” flooding a border. WADA etc are totally overwhelmed, having focused (been distracted by) first Russia, then Kenya.
While they police the front door, everybody floods in the back door.
It’s over. The war has been won by sheer numbers, by overwhelming force.
And it has only just begun.
This is just the beginning of the flood.
It is incredibly cheap to motivate and prepare the willing army of “athletes”.
It’s too late. By the time any baselines are established, it’s already over.
IMO
Where we go from here, who cares. At this point I don’t much give a shlt if I see adults dropping dead during races. Don’t laugh, it WILL happen.
I now pronounce the old days of women’s distance officially dead.
It’s not the problem, it’s only a symptom. It’s the way all aspects of societies worldwide have been developing for some time now. It’s the NWO free-for-all.
Difficult for some to adapt. I guess I will have to decide for myself if watching people do such things, and perhaps watching them collapse, is entertaining to me. I haven’t yet decided.
Hard days work for Armstronglivs in this thread. The grind never stops.
Could be a record day for him. I think today he easily betters his alltime record of 52 posts on a single day. Was it over 60? At the age of 75, he can't be clean.
Yeah, it’s just a complete joke now. Unfortunately, it’s made ‘elite’ road running completely unwatchable for me now. The Africans turn up massively doped, dominate the top 10, go home with their new cars and cash to buy houses..Get popped a year or two later (who cares? They got the car and house and never have to give it back). They’re still massively better off than if they hadn’t doped enormously since being teenagers. No one cares! All the incentives and none of the disincentives to play by the normal rules. It’s completely destroying the sport.
You guys are idiots. What has changed on the last 5 years? The shoes! Subtract the shoes from the equation and you don't have any white men breaking 12min 50sec for 5kms. Ever.
I'm European btw, and it's clear to me that East African runners have body predispositions for elite distance running. If you can't see this you're a fool.
As for records falling. There is no reason to suspect that PED use has increased recently. HOWEVER, from a rational evidential standpoints the shoes HAVE had a HUGE CORRELATION with plummeting times.
The marathon attracted most of the east African talent because of prize money during the Mo Fara era. Now that track is big once more, you'll see young east Africans specialising in it again and washing out Jacob's and Grant's times.
Tigist Assefa's Marathon coverts to slightly better than a sub-29 10000m. It makes sense that we now have a female Marathon performance superior to elite female 10000m performances. There are a greater number of elite women racing Marathon compared to 10000m. Elite Marathon performances pay better than elite 10000m performances. U.S. male posters spamming this site comparing elite women Marathoners to U.S. male Marathoners is boring. I have stated over and over, U.S. is a 100m to 800m nation plus jumps, sprints and throws. Ethiopian men aren't fretting about their 100m performances compared to 100m times, U.S. women.
I guarantee if she were some white girl, especially an American, you'd be saying a different story. Y'all are just butt hurt pathetic slow runners who can't fathom the fact that people of color are naturally gifted with athleticism. If you spent less time on here whining about everything and more time training you might run a little faster. Do you think Jakob is clean? He's the most obvious doper.
You must be new here. Do you not recall all of the threads accusing both Paula Radcliffe and Shelby Houlihan of doping? Let’s not even get started with Addy Wiley lol.
The womens marathon record is a weak one. Do you rememeber when Paula Radcliff broke it? It was by about 2minuts if i remember. from 2:17 to 2:15. You then had a 2:14 and i always thought it was there for the taking.
Lets be honest guys, we Ethiopians are not known for this kind of things, Athletics is the biggest sport in Ethiopia and for Ethiopians it is a source of pride. No athelt would dare bring damage to our reputation as there is a huge price to pay from the public. The federation is corrupt on money matters and selection but not to drugs level.
The shoes , she loved it. She took it off and kissed it. If althets like Joshua can take KB's record wearing this type of shoes, why can't Tigist? Its the age we live in, technology
She is faster than your Ethiopian hero of the '60's, Abebe Bikila, when he set a world record at the Tokyo Olympics. Let that sink in. He was the MEN'S world record-holder and now he isn't as fast as a woman novice. Running has to be the dirtiest sport on the planet now.
Yeah because I'm sure knowledge of training, diet, recovery and shoe technology is still at the same level it was in the 60's...

I don't get all the controversy. Take your dumb ass back last year and ask yourself, if we give the current crop of female marathoners, full, unbridled access to all PEDs for one year, what would the WR be? I bet none of you say sub 2:12, mainly because you ALREADY think they're on drugs. This is an insane run no matter what she's on.
Tangential question here: now that women can bust out 2:11 for a marathon, are we still supposed to accept that women are too fragile to play best-of-5 matches in Tennis majors?
Yep this is a joke, they get the same prize money for playing less sets Ruth less quality. Though I can imagine Serena would have won 30 majors if 5 sets were the standard for the women’s.

The controversy is that the doping is not out in the open and accepted yet. In sports most of us want rules and a certain level of fairness so that the athlete's hard work and grit do the winning. It's no fun when athletes are disappered for a year and then come out and obliterate the competition and the WR and then disappear again. Sure, it's a fact that not all have the same talent, so we accept that factor can't be even and we know that access to good coaches, good diet, high altitude etc are all ways athletes use to try to gain advantages. So why not just let them dope openly and be content with the freak show? What's not fair is that our sport is a massive fraud. I'd love the sport much more if we all stopped pretending the top athletes are clean and they stopped hiding it. Just allow it already.

Once again: the problem is that it filters into the adolescent and child ranks. Kids are subject to coercion, and a lot of adults are a-holes who use kids to their detriment. Drugs could easily be more dangerous to a smaller, and still developing, body.
That is the real problem, not loser adults doing drugs.

Where was your preamble when Jakob destroyed the 2 mile record? For that matter, why wasn't there an 11 page thread announcing that the war on cheats has been lost when that occurred?
